Well, you know, I try to make my life beautiful, which means simplicity. It is easy to be happy when you are easily made happy... if that makes any sense. ;) Thanks for the reccomendation; I've written it down in my book and will be looking for it at my library right away. You have quite a range of titles! I love it when people read a little bit of everything; they are always the best conversationalists, in my opinion. :) Well, take care, and I'll let you know what I think of Wallace Stegner. :D

Great U.S. history collection. You should tag your books so people can easily looks through your shelf by topic. That, and it's fun to see your collection in a tag cloud... :0)

    Re: Harry Potter

Started reading the 1st book about two months ago and I'm currently reading the 5th. Mind you, I am quite cynical....and skeptical, but it still won me over. I suspect it isn't for everyone, but I'll give it a shot if I were you... if only to see what the fuss is all about. It's a very fast and easy read. :)

She is a big, beautiful, chocolate lab ball of love. She's 6 months now, and HUGE! 50 lbs or so. Just love her. :)

Thanks for your prompt response. I obviously don't know enough about planes. I can't tell a Mooney without seeing the tail. Thought you were in a single-place experimental aircraft. My husband and I used to fly a 1976 Warrior. We were both instrument-rated once, but I decided never to fly an airplane that was faster than my brain, or a retractable. Love your books, too. I see you have quite a coterie of female friends, and I will put myself up for a spot in that crowd.

Hi there! You have quite a shelf . . . from the looks of it, you seem to be the man to go to for anything 'America' (all the books about Presidents, Fitzgeralds, etc). Impressive shelf!!

    A piolet, eh? Awesome.

I'm sorry - since I am probably even newer (started today) I haven't yet got the hang of how it works. Just now I got your email.... I am not even aware Tartt has written a third one - I just heard the bad reviewas on The Little Friend.
