I was so excited to get your note re/ Cara Black. I have found her books to be so fascinating even though I have not been to Paris since 1969 when I was in college, so that really doesn't count1 I would love to be your friend. It looks like we have a lot of books in common.
I saw your question about an easier way to find your post. I went through the same thing.. Didn't post for 2 weeks and ended up having to look through about 20 pages to find my thread. Anyway, if you read the group description, it suggests bookmarking your thread in your computers bookmarks.
Thank you for such a nice message! I hope you have a wonderful time in Paris!
u're welcome.. :) i haven't finish with harry potter.. i'm still thru with the 4th book... it's on the way.. hate it when the details not as much in the movie...
Hey ... Actually, I've read 3 Tom Holt's but the only one I really liked was The Portable Door. I need to read some of his that aren't part of that series, because I've heard good things.
Dear Elphaba, I've read two Pratchett novels in the last week, "The Light Fantastic" and "Pyramids." Lots of fun, some wonderful terrible puns and a little satire and a lot of silly English humor. Hope you had a great winter holiday. I've left S'ville for a permanent job in Redding, so if you're ever "comin' roun' the mountain," give me a call! Peace!
HiMay i have the pleasure of getting a place in your friend(s) list ?
Yes, I know what you mean about having an overall Favorite cat. Mine was Byron, who was my close friend from age 21 to 40 if you can imagine--he went through so much with me and knew me so well. I had other cats at the time, and he was like a Godfather -- making it a happy cat family (but without any funny business)....It must be hard for the twin, when the mate dies...
That's good to hear. I'm having a hard time getting the other books I want to read but I know they have this one at the library. WhooooHooo something to read. Thanks : )
Thanks. I will have to peruse your shelf too. Have a great weekend. : )
Hi Elphaba! I found a few things on your shelf too! I'll have to check out Kelley Armstrong's series-sounds like my cup of tea!
Riddle of the Wren, I think. I don't know anything about it, and there's nothing on the cover to explain.
I found a Charles de Lint novel on my physical bookshelf, a used paperback from decades ago that I'm pretty sure I've never read. I'll give it a try soon. Have a good weekend!
Cool, thanks.
Brin is science fiction, Gibson was the originator of the science fiction subfield called cyberpunk; well worth reading just because it's so darn different than the usual SF.
Oi! This is addicting, isn't it? I started reading Neil Gaiman because "American Gods" was highly recommended. but I've not read any other Terry Pratchett books. I see lots of overlap on our shelves, so I guess I should look into Pratchett. Where's your Douglas Adams?
