Hello Elysse, thanks for joining The Perennial! It's great to have you, as one of us. Anyway, all of us have one thing in common, despite our different interests, our different tastes, and which books we prefer to read: we all are fellow Shelfarians!
So, I just hope you'll enjoy being a member of The Perennial. Scan through, and please, post. It'll all be much more enjoyable and worthwhile if you actually cross the line of being a member, and participate. Socialize and interact! This is one of life's greatest treasures: of actually being part of something, and being able to do something, something weighty and consequential. So, you're part of The Perenial, huh? You're not just a Shelfarian now. :D All of us, from The Perennial, are eager, and are waiting for you to cross that border.
Don't forget. You are someone, you stand on panache that's all your own. Spread the word: Join the Perennial!
I tell you (I guess you must know that, but still..): it's such a great thing to make learning really a way of living. Enjoy!
*Please constantly check the main group page for any updates. I'll be sending notes for any important notices.
*I'm glad to be able to meet Filipinas like me, online. Hope we can chat! You said you're loquacious, right? Well.. hehe, I love talking too! XD

Hello, Elysse. Umberto Eco caught my attention but the reason I'm writing is this: For the last eleven years I have been writing my novel, Loughshinny, and it was published in January of this year. It takes place in both Ireland and Boston. I was just wondering if you would check it out on Amazon, consider picking up a copy, and letting me know what you think.

hi, there's great book swapping happening at www.bookmooch.com. it has a forum here at shelfari, at http://www.shelfari.com/groups/23735/about.

bookmooch is a site that lets you give away the books you don't want anymore and get the books you Really Want to&from bookmooch members all over the world!

joining is free. you don't spend to get the books but you will have to pay postage to send internationally. with sea mail, you won't be damaged so much though (80/thin book, 150 up for heavier books).

    hope you join!

    Hi Elysse,

I see you have a lot of digital photography books. What sort do you take? I've only just started using digital. I guess I'm a bit of a traditionalist with film.

Hi Elysse, I have just perused your shelf and I must say its very impressive. Have You actually read all those books? If yes then I am impressed. How do you manage the cost of buying all these books?
I would want to hear you comment on the book "The God Delusion". I am in Africa and getting some of these books may not be possible and could be expensive so I would appreciate any comment you could make on the ones I am not able to read.
Thanks and expecting your reply. If possible mail me at nengak2003@yahoo.com.
