Copies of the second book in the Nan's Heritage Series, Elk's Resolve, are available. My publisher, Tate Publishing and Enterprises officially released it June 2009.

"Elk's Resolve" picks up the story from "Nan's Journey". That said, it is a stand alone book and readers will enjoy it even if they haven't read "Nan's Journey". However,... more »

  • Victory Over Anger

    Victory Over Anger

    by Dr. Teresa Davis Ed.D
    • Rated 5 stars

Dr. Davis' book on anger and anger management is a wonderful resource. I can see this book making a huge difference in the lives of many people. Through personal experiences the journey she has been through, she makes clinical ideas flesh out in a way that the reader can know is workable in their life. With much personal understanding and a lot of Scripture, Dr. Davis points the way to victory over anger. After reading this book I have learned a lot about myself as well as A.D.D. and other situations that she highlighted. I would say this is an important book for anyone serious about getting their emotions under control.

When a friend recommended this book to me I had no idea that I would be glued to my chair and crying the rest of the day away. I simply could not put it down. It was difficult to stomach in places but necessary. Forgiveness is an important topic to me and the issues I have dealt with in that subject do not stack up at all to what this man has been through in his life. Yet, by the grace of God, he was able to release the pain and truly forgive. This gives me hope for myself and my situations. The freedom of spirit he experiences through forgiveness shows that it is worth it.
Honestly, I have heard stories about the Holocaust before this one, but this first person post Holocaust story is a must read. Younger readers should not read it without parental approval.

This was a very touching and personal book. Rachel is still influencing people 10 years after her death.

  • Just When You Think You Are All Alone

Leon Mentzer weaves several tremendous short stories in this book. "Just When You Think You Are All Alone" has a movie contract on it and I understand why after reading it. The stories are plausible yet whimsical. The plots are not predictable, which is always a good thing in my mind. You will want a copy of this book to meditate on and discuss with your friends. It is a good book for a book group. Also, since it is a series of short stories, it is a good fit for people who are not able to put in the time for a lengthy book.

    Weapons of Light

    by Ann Winters
    • Rated 5 stars

From the first page of "Weapons of Light" by Ann Winters I found myself totally amazed at the quality of writing and the depth of the spiritual content. The story moved along at a good clip and held my interest. If you liked Frank Peretti's, "This Present Darkness", you will like this book. I urge you to get a copy and dive into the story of these dedicated ministers as they fight the good fight of faith. This is a book you will want on your bookshelf to stay.

  • Bitter Water
    • Rated 5 stars

I read "Bitter Water" after meeting the author at an author event this January, 2009. She is a dedicated writer with an important message. The overall message of "Bitter Water" is forgiveness to those who don't even request it. Most readers will identify with the struggle of forgiving the unrepentant. Mrs. Smith discribes very real to life characters with problems that will resonate in any location of the world. Be sure to get a copy of "Bitter Water" and see for yourself.
