Then I went to law school and worked in the Family Courts in NYC. I took a few months off to live in the Outer Banks, but now I am back in NYC and working in the Criminal...more »

I just realized you work for judges now. I hope they are not cranky ones. I work for lawyers, but have at least one judge who is friend through shared reading habits.

    Hi Eissme:

I was peeking through your shelves and saw your review of The Count of Monte Cristo. Was the edition that you had pictured the one you read? I had a funny experience with this book.

I hope those kids and the Board of Ed are treating you well.

    be safe,

    Alyssa

Thanks, Eissme, for the explanation...so it was a brutal attack...wonder how she forgot about that...I understand now what folks mean about the surprise ending...it was that she didn't realize what happened until the attacker wrote that note...that sort of took me by surprise too...I thought maybe the attacker was making it up...So she was in the institution and wrote all of this?

THANKS....BTW, I do believe I asked for your friendship and I do see the friendship is pending on your end.

Talk to you soon...we can use e-mail as well if you like.

Check out my "favorite" shelf for some good books...I am reading North River now...predictable, but good.

    Ciao, new friend!! :)

Can you e-mail me and explain Double Bind? I am really confused about the book. Don't want to spoil it for anyone so don't want you to post it publicly.

    THANKS.

I did read it - that's the one I was telling you was so hard to get through, but it actually gets a lot better further in the book. I honestly couldn't decide if I really liked it or hated it, because the first part of the book I hated, but the last part I liked. I actually read another book of his after that one, which was rather dark, but much easier to read. It's up to you if you feel like wading through the first part.

Yes! I had no idea she was suffering from post traumatic shock. I never caught that. I loved and believed her story. I definitelly think I need to read it again.

I think it might be. I did own it at one time and in my cleaning frenzy I don't see it. I did like it though as I remember. On that same subject I have a few books that may be yours. We will discuss as I surely do not want to give away . Love, of course.

I enjoyed reading your review of HACK and I am glad I wrote mine first. Seeing it through your New Yorker eyes it is more enjoyable. And I do see the NY cabbies in a totally different light also. Thanks for sharing reading with me.
