The book delves more into the "why" as opposed to just the "how" of cooking (i.e. just following a list of recipes). It was written by the guy who did Deep Fried, Live! (an online animated cooking show starring a cartoon octopus), which landed him a job as a writer for Alton Brown's show, Good Eats.”
