“I read this book in college in one of my African American studies courses (I minored in it). Ida interested me because I was studying Journalism at Boston University and I thought the connection between my major and Ida would be great. What I learned about Ida was profound and astounding. How this black woman could report on lynchings and talk about the barbaric lynch mobs shows the strength of one human being. Ida's drive and dedication to her people should be highly commended and read - This is a must read.”

“I truly hope they make this book into a movie - the fact that Alex Cross (hero of the series) has solved plenty of mysteries but to finally solve the murder of his wife I think is one of the best books Patterson has written in the complete series thus far.”
