    Indeed. There are some things that have to be read before one can be considered an educated person.
    We may have more "common shelf" as the long, slow, catalog process unfolds.

    Back in the day, I used to patronize the Brandeis University booksale which was then the largest used and rare book sale in the world ( now sadly defunct.). I used it to gather a sizable collection of diplo memoirs and papers on the cheap that served me well all through grad school. The very eccentric crowd at that event resembled the kind of people who sign up for Shelfari. ;o)
