Reading is my leasure. I have two hours to spend going to and from work everyday. That's four hours of reading interrupted only by the bus conductor and the ticket inspector... oh, and occasional naps. Reading is my leasure. I have two hours to spend going to and from work everyday. That's four hours of reading interrupted only by the bus conductor and the ticket inspector... oh, and occasional naps. My book collection shows that I like to read about things related to my work as an HR practitioner and business manager.

I discovered that it is best to read a book twice (OC?).
When I read, I try to read slowly, sometimes going back and forth to understand what is being said. When I read, I try to imagine the author talking to me and I sometimes respond by writing my opinion on the side of the pages.

I personally believe that reading is like watering and cultivating a plant. It helps one grow as a person. That is why I make it a challenge to identify the ideas presented in the book and do my best to make some changes happen in the way I lead, deal with others or the way I think. I call it take an idea and run away with it. Try it, it will work wonders for you. « less
