  • AP United States History (REA) - The Best Test Prep for the AP Exam: 7th Edition (Test Preps)
    • Rated 4 stars

R.E.A's "Are you serious about getting a 5?" study guide series is one of the best on the market, and the Unites States History edition is no exception. With 375 pages of in-depth review by year, this books would enable even homeschooled students to prepare for the exam. The 6 full-length practice exams included detail why possible answers are correct AND explains why incorrect answers are not the best choice. A student with about 8 weeks (as the book recommends) to devote to studying this guide would be very likely to boost their score.
Personally, I took an APUSH class for one semester, and then, 4 weeks prior to the exam, relied solely on this book, diligently taking notes, and earned a 5. I highly recommend R.E.A.

This concise study guide for the AP English Language exam would be best suited for students who only desire a quick brush-up a few weeks before the exam. It provides sample tests for practice, but the material overview is not in-depth enough to be of great use to those who need more than a refresher. While it will soothe pre-test nerves and get you into the groove of the AP exam format, it is unlikely to improve your score.

Laugh-out-loud hilarious! A parody of the origins of Christianity and a humorous speculation on what Christ was up to during those "missing years"-- all told from the perspective of his sarcastic, not-so-bright best friend, Biff. A must-read for anyone with a well developed sense of humor, but probably not for the squeamish or very religious.

A trilogy of novels chronicling a young dark-elven girl's exploration of her world. This is an interesting exploration of how culture affects perspective, as well as the lines between good and evil. However, The Starlight and Shadows series will probably only be enjoyed by fans of high-fantasy.

An excellent, poetically written novel about identity and the fringe between reality and the impossible. Charles De Lint is an urban-fantasy master.
