Wasn;t sure how to respond to your post, so I am dropping anote...yes, I have read Eddings other series and loved it! Thanks for asking, 'cause if I didn't, I would now!!
Hi Dreimutter:I am taking classes this summer and avoiding papers as usual. I highly recommend Passage, College and Scholar of Magic. The are fun and quick reads. Robin and Kestrel takes off from the previous book and is a bit slow. I have not read the first book and that may account for it being slow. How is your summer going?
Hi and welcome to the Kick A** Chicks group. Please feel free to jump in on the discussions(or start new ones)and add books to the shelf.Happy Reading,Lori
hey..thanks for the vampire recommendations. I checked in the library..they don't have the first in the series but i'll definitley have a look out for them. :-)
Hi, I ran across some of your comments, and browsed your shelf. Nice shelf, I enjoyed browsing and saw many intresting selections.
Hi Dreimutter, just started a sci fi film group, thought you might be interested in joining.http://www.shelfari.com/groups/25297/about
Thank you so much for accepting my friendship request. I saw the note asking about the book I wrote with my friend Amy. Well, the book I wrote I think you would enjoy. I see a lot of fantasy on your bookshelf and in your groups so I have a pretty good idea that you would like it. The book is like the ultimate in good versus evil, full of werewolves, vampires, your basic undead type of thing and fallen angels. Think Buffy the Vampire Slayer meets Lord of the Rings (the book). It's an unusual way to describe it but that's the best analogy I can think of.Summary: To Kyoko, mythical creatures are something you rent and watch on a Saturday night with your friends. When a mysterious stalker turns the shadows around her into dark corners with sharp deadly edges, will she be able to hide from the past? Darkness has fallen upon the world again and the guardians have been awaiting the resurrection. Though they are thought to be creatures of myth, in this reality they are far more real than people think. Only when the moon is high will these creatures, these guardians, battle the evil that seeks to overtake the world and the girl who holds ultimate power… the light in the heart of darkness. If you'd like to know more or need a better explanation just let me know.RKM :)
You sound like me. The only thing slowing me down is textbook reading and paper writing. I still find time to juggle a few fun books on the side. If you look at what I am currently reading and see the plan on reading (which is on a shelf in my bedroom) you will see what I mean. It seems that they keep calling "read me" :D
I wanted to recommend the book I am reading, The Darkest Evening of the Year by Dean Koontz. As usual the characters are wonderful and as usual for Koontz some of the best characters are the Golden Retrievrs. Amy Redwing is the main character and she has a wonderful sense of humor, she founded a rescue for abandoned and mistreated goldens. I am just half way through and already know that this is going to go on my favorite shelf and I will be reading it again and again.
