One of these days I will get around to really saying something about myself. For right now just know that I'm a voracious reader (rapidly running out of space so that I had to purge some books from my real life shelves :-( very unhappy camper). I will get around to doing tags and giving opinions someday. (That day has arrived! at least as far... more »

Hello there. Good to know you are still enjoying your Kindle. I've not yet bought one, but probably will sometime this year. January was a big reading month for me as I zipped through quite a few. I so love reading! Hope your year is off to a good start too.

I must admit, I have not done much on shelfari myself recently as i have been involved in Bookrix.com and reading a new author for me, no, not sci/fi-fantasy but medaevil fiction based on some factual evidence by Elizabeth Chadwick. The first book Lords of the White Castle is a great story she came across whilst researching for another book. I am now reading her book The Scarlet Lion set at about 1200s AD about another factual character so I have deviated from the fantasy for the moment. Will keep your new authors in mind thought, thanks

Have been wondering how you're doing with all your new e-book additions. I've not yet bought a reader, but am curious about how you like yours. I'm such a tactile person and enjoy the feel of a hardcover book, as well as the ability to page back to re-read certain passages, and I wonder how you'd compare books to e-books. True, I'm retired and visit the library once or twice a week as it is just so easy for me to pick up 10 - 15 books each time I go. You'd think I'd be disciplined and be methodically making my way through my reading list, but noooo - I always get distracted by all the new (or recent) titles perched upon their shelves are crying out "pick me! pick me! pick me!" Will be interested in your opinions. Happy Day!

Am not surprised you set it aside for a while. It's infuriating when a book that should be a fast, absorbing read is so handicapped by poor writing. I wish someone would simply re-write it, because the content should be more out there in general circulation than it is. I agree with your take on the gasbag.

Will be interested in your opinion on all the current affairs books you're reading. I've read The Family and was impressed by the content, but thought the writing was poor and it made getting through the very interesting info more time-consuming than it should have been. Even so, the content was well worth
    learning.

I hadn't noticed that book of Beck bombast before. You'll have to tell me all about it when you finish. Hope all's well with you.

Wish I had seen that interview - am sure it was interesting. Adding books is very time-consuming, isn't it? I too have ever so many to add. Will just keep plugging along, although it certainly does rob from the reading time. Ah well....

Hi there - how have you been? Am wondering how you're liking Blinded by the Right. I found it fascinating and kind of creepy to learn about all the dirty tricks and hatred behind The Arkansas Project.
