  I just finished Christ the Lord: Out of Egypt, by Anne Rice. This is the first book in her planned series about the life of Jesus, and it begiins with him as a 7-year-old -- a special 7-year-old with lots of questions about who he is, his birth and his powers. I enjoyed the book because it gave me some perspective about what Jesus' early years were like. The book is quite a twist for Rice, who is better known for her vampire novels, but in her author's note she says she was seeking who Jesus was and is. The book has a reverential quality to it, and I look forward to reading more books in Rice's series.
