“I was recommended to this book by a friend who had lived and worked in New York, she felt it an essential guide into writing English correctly, it is. The use of the semi-colon is, for me, the most concise erudite section in the book. a little gem!”

“As always from Robert Harris a beautifully researched piece concentrating on two major events in the life of the late Roman Republic, the Verres scandal and the precursor to the Catilinarian Conspiracy all seen through the yes of a slave of Cicero. Surely a prelude to more in Cicero's intricate and controversial life.”
