Oops, I just saw a shelf with several of her books I just glanced and must have mistook the name since I recall the title sounds like a good book and added to my wish list.. two new authors today I now want to try.

Good Reads has chosen a selection for our August book. By a landslide victory we will be reading James Patterson's SUNDAYS AT TIFFANY'S.

I noticed on the PBT thread that you are a Nora Roberts fan! I am also but I have never branched into the JD Robb stuff, I have only stuck to the romance novels! :) They are my little rewards after a particularly hard week at work. Her newest novel, Tribute, comes out in a couple of weeks! What do you think of her books as Nora Roberts/JD Robb?

Good luck! I've never understood any of those games. Maybe you can explain it to me sometime. When you have a chance, read the discussions about meeting (live) - we're planning to form a group, seems like all women at this point, and will meet in Stillwater towards the end of July. If for any reason you can't meet with this group, I'd love to have lunch or coffee with you sometime in our neck of the woods!
Voting is now taking place in "Good Reads" for our August group read. Feel free to stop by and place your vote, discuss a book, or post your own question.

Sorry my activity has dropped on the Short Stories group -- I finish my days at UCLA next week, so I should be back on to comment on the previous stories and start the thread for the 5th story on the 16th. Been crazybusy with midterms, papers and, now, finals. But it will all end soon and I'll get back on the BASS bandwagon very soon.

I'm the Admin from the Cat and Cozy Mystery groups and I'm letting all members know we are having our first book discussion beginning July 15th. We will be reading Catnapped by Gabriella Herkert. I hope you will be able to join us.

Hi Doughgirl,Wow! You have a very full bookshelf. After seeing your bookshelf, I decided to place a few of the books I remember on mine.In terms of your comments about "Solid Wood", I didn't sense there was an attempt at a plot. The last exchange, to me, means that the old lady is now so old, she's no longer interested in making any changes; that she is now content with where things are in her life, where she's left everything, the way they are.I'm curious to see your comments on "Skin", "DeBard", and "Impressions".......

Just wanted to pop over and say hello! I have seen you on the Cat and Cozy Group. You have some great books on your shelf!!
Another announcement from the Good Reads group: Rita Goldman Gelman, author of "Tales of a Female Nomad" (one of our nominees for May), will be stopping by our group for a Q & A session. I just thought I'd let our members know about this in case they want to read this book and may choose to read it sooner since there is an opportunity to discuss the book with the author.
Hi Doughgirl - you're probably away for the weekend, but when you have a chance I hope you'll stop by the group and put your two cents in! And please feel free to invite friends to the group, even if they're not from Minnesota (I belong to a Seattle group, just because someone invited me). Hope you had good weather wherever you are!

Just letting you know that a winner has been chosen as July's selection in the group Good Reads. We will be reading Joshilyn Jackson's "Gods in Alabama". Feel free to stop by to post questions or start discussions. A few members have mentioned they are reading more than one title so if you choose to read any of the other nominated titles feel free to post or start discussions on them as well.Voting for August's book will start at the beginning of June so be sure to check back and vote!
I appreciate any and all ideas and input - feel free to add discussion posts or whatever. I've never done this before and am fairly new to Shelfari but I'm getting a real kick out of it.
You've been promoted!
I would love to have help with the group! I have no idea how to do that, though . . . if you figure out how to appoint yourself, go ahead, otherwise I'll look around. I threw it together really fast today and of course forgot tons of things I will want to add later.Glad there's been a good response! Tell all your Midwestern buddies!

Re: Are You There Vodka....Just finished it and although I did laugh out loud quite a few times it ends very abruptly, there are a ton of typographical errors, and it left me thinking she was a pretty shallow and self absorbed person.

I can never find Tony Roma's in the mall...or anything else to be exact. When they sell their home in AZ, they will move up there to MN (BIG TEMP difference!) I will let you know. She drives me nuts, my stepdad is nice. I have been to Vikings games and that sort of thing but that is about it.
My charming (NOT) mother is moving to MN in the future. SO, I will have a) an excuse to be in your neck of the woods b) will need to run away from her from time to time c) get to do cool things like go to the P.B. Loco store and try all of the peanut butter and buy 10 at once - hit the Godiva store as well and try everything there too d) an excuse to go to the zoo and stand infront of the Bald Eagle and make faces at it! So, send me an email if you are up for it!
