Donna Hatch

Donna Hatch

I've been an avid reader since 2nd grade and have been writing stories since then, too. A native of Arizona, I live with my husband of 20 years and my 6 children. I write fantasy and historical romance. All of my heroes are patterned after my husband, who continues to prove there really is a happily ever after.

Hi Donna - sorry not to have answered your previous message. Just being old and frail and not getting all the writing done I want to! Let alone reading. Do you find you have the same problem? Or maybe you're young enough to cope!
    Happy writing.

    Hi, Donna!

And "Hi!" to everyone else in this group. Like Judith, I'm treading water in the Big Deep here.

I just finished Julia's Quinn's latest book, "The Lost Duke of Wyndham" and I'm anxiously awaiting the next in the series, "Mr. Cavendish, I Presume" which will be on the stands in October. I love Julia's books.

I've just begun Part 3 of the four-part Brenda Joyce book, "Promise of the Rose", the story of Stephen de Warenne who abducts and weds Mary Canmore, daughter of King Malcom III of Scotland, the de Warenne's arch enemy.

I've read several other of the de Warenne series, and I like them very much. However, after trudging (mentally) through war-torn Northumberland in 1093 with all its danger, hatred and dishonor at every turn, I felt last night that I needed something a little lighter for a while. I went to bed with Tara Taylor Quinn's "His Brother's Bride" which took me to a Bed & Breakfast in the Berkshires - a welcome relief!

Let me hasten to say that I love POTR (and all of Brenda's books), but when I read, I live what I'm reading, and I needed something light and joyful for a little while.

I read a lot of non-fiction. I recently read Barbara Walter's autobiography, "Audition", which I highly recommend. It's very enlightening. I also read Barrack Obama's two autobiographies, "The Audacity of Hope" & "Dreams From My Father". These are stunningly written, as well as enlightening.

It's good to be with you all. I'll post a photo when I can. I need to learn to navigate this thing!
