"Prisoner's Hope (The Seafort Saga Series: Book III)" by David Feintuch is an incredible continuation of one of the sci/fi world's greatest epic stories. The intensity, dark moments, frenetic pacing, atmospheric backdrops, and trials and tribulations experienced by Captain Nicholas Seafort positions this series as a classic from a master storyteller! If you can endure the gut-wrenching reality and unrelenting intensity coupled with the gnawing self-doubt of the young protagonist this is a series you must read. It's truly amazing...5 stars!!!!!

This is the first book I have ever read in which the action (at least in part) takes place on prison hulks. These were ships no longer deemed fully seaworthy which were modified to become floating prisons for French prisoners during the Napoleonic wars. Conditions on these hulks were deplorable. I am semi-fascinated with the Regency period to begin with but this setting was the icing on the cake. Lots of fun to be had here as with all the Hawkwood series so far.

Clearly I love to read. I tend to find a book I like, and then obsessively read everything that author has ever written. Many of the books on my shelf were read a number of years ago, I am currently a graduate student and that unfortunately leaves limited time for pleasure reading. :(

"This Perfect Day" by Ira Levin is quite simply amazing. Original, imaginative, erudite and totally entrancing this story is truly a masterpiece. Be careful what you wish for comes to mind when I reflect on the well written storyline which is both provocative engaging, and immersive with melifluous pacing, richly developed characters, descriptive backdrops, societal conundrums, tepid romantic entanglements, and set against unpredictable betrayals and surprising twists and turns that will catch you off guard. If you are a sci/fi adventure/mystery fan then you will want to read this book...I loved it! 5 stars!!!!!
