I write books, mainly mystery/suspense, under the pen name D. M. Pirrone. My debut mystery, NO LESS IN BLOOD, came out from Five Star/Cengage in March 2011. My current work-in-progress is a story about a stolen child, and the repercussions in her own and others' lives when--as a young adult--she discovers this startling truth. I love to write and to read stories where someone's life is upended, or a secret from the past surfaces in the present, and then the main character (and others) have to cope with the fallout. How and why the characters do what they do is a source of endless fascination.

A voracious reader ever since I first figured out that those black squiggles on white paper actually meant something, I particularly enjoy suspense, mystery/crime fiction, fantasy, SF, and historical novels. I'm a history buff and a Shakespeare nerd, and I also act (when I can get the work) and I do comedy tarot readings.
