Hi Uncle Doug, Daryl recommended a cool book to me, "The Dangerous Lives of Altar Boys"... I really liked it, and I bet it would be a hit with Connor and your high school students. Great 'coming of age' story. Their motto: "Trouble is our only defense against boredom"
Cool, glad you are enjoying the Dark Materials trilogy, I'll have to check it out. My Dad will be here in a week, very exciting!! I'm thinking about coming to the US for a visit around July, so hopefully I'll see you guys then!
Yes, Ada is Nobokov (sp?). I haven't read it yet - but saw the blurb about it on the Murakami group's bookshelf. I put it on my 'want to read' list - I like that feature. My latest read was "Capote" which I enjoyed. I don't usually read biographies, but when I do I usually like them. He was an interesting character! Made me want to read some of his writing...
