My name is Kelly and I am currently living in Northern California while I work on finishing the rough draft of my first (completed) novel. Besides being an avid reader of anything from children's picture books to romance novels and spending most of my spare time writing, I also love going to Disneyland, reading Harry Potter (hence the name...more »

More exciting news at the Suspense & Thrillers Group…as you might already know that Keith Katsikas, author of “2060: The Newton Prophecies” will be leading a discussion on his book. We don’t have a date set up yet, but will in a couple of weeks.

In the meantime, Amanda Stevens, author of THE DOLLMAKER, has also agreed to lead the discussion for May’s Group Read, which is THE DOLLMAKER. I’m really excited as this is something new and might become a new trend with our group discussions. If you’ve already read the book, come join us. If not, see if you can grab a copy. There’s still time as the discussion won’t begin until the first week of May.

Dear Disneypotter: Good luck with your novel. am having my first novel published in April. If you ever want to discuss the publishing process or need help in any way, let me know. I have a woman who reads my manuscripts line by line, commenting on everything from spelling and grammar to things that didn't make sense to her. It can be a frustrating process. If I can ease your path in any way, let me know.

My book is HUNTING THE KING. It wasn't the first I wrote. And I've written two novels since. It just happens to be the first one that's getting published. Here are the details:

HUNTING THE KING is a fast-paced page-turner that follows archaeologist Molly O'Dwyer into war torn Iraq in search of the remains of Jesus. ForeWord Magazine says: "Fans of intellectual thrillers and historical fiction will find a worthy new voice in Clenott. His best invention may be Molly O’Dwyer, a genuinely likeable heroine who more than holds her own in a man’s world. An ambitious scientist, she is also an observant Catholic whose heart and mind don’t always agree. Given such an auspicious start, the sequel can't come too soon."

While the book isn't available until April, you can find it on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Kunati Books and other googleable sites. You won't be disappointed.

To get a good sense of how exciting the novel is check out the heartpounding trailer for the book at http://www.kunati.books/hunting-the-king-peter-clenott/. Or you can view it on YouTube or my web site at www.peterclenott.com. Let me know what you think. And please don't hesitate to share your writing for comment if you want. Thanks.

Hey, I am doing Na No Wri Mo this year. I saw you on the site. It is so funny I am writing my first novel right now too. I have written poetry before. I am about half way through mine. It's about 367 pg long so far. I have been writing it on and off for 3 yrs. Do you write exclusively or do you have another job that you do as well? Do you have an agent for your book. I found out how important they are when I started writing poetry. What is your book about? Mine is about the repercussions of divorce on an entire extended family.

Straight to the publisher...but I first went to a writer's conference where I met one of their writers. He recommended that I send my proposal to his pub.

Mine is a little over 105,000 words. I've begun my second novel and am at 28,000 words on that one.

Thanks for your comment to my advice on Writing Readers. After re-reading it I decided to delete it and redo it. Something about what I said for one of my WIPs just didn't make sense to me. Think I was a bit tired when I wrote the note. Anyway, just wanted to say thanks. It's nice to know someone likes my story ideas. Both of those mentioned should be complete soon. One by the end of September, then I'll be sending it to agents as I seek representation. The other will probably be complete by the end of October.
