Hello! Welcome to my Shelfari page.

They are living among us but superior in so many ways. We don't even know the danger exists from this ultimate predator, but war is coming and the humans are going to get caught in the middle. You might wonder who they are...well they are the Ikati. A savage, passionate and lethal beings with supernatural abilities. Some can shift, some can turn to mist and some are tired of hiding what they truly are...

Eliana is Ikati, living on the fridges of society she is in hiding from her own people. She one day dreams of living openly with humans and many are her friends, but a sinister plot may destroy all her dreams and hopes for her people and their future.

D, Demetrius, was once a guard to the royal family. Searching for Eliana has become an obsession for D. Knowing the evil enemy that hides in the ranks of the missing Ikati, D will stop at nothing to save Eliana from the path that is rushing toward them.

Swept away by this fabulous tale, I found Rapture's Edge completely captivating. J. T. Geissinger wove a tale of intrigue, romance, mystery, fantasy and action while building a dark and vivid world within our own world. Although this is the third book in this series, it stood on its own with no feeling of catching up or confusion. This was a contemporary fantasy with a good touch of hot and steamy romance...a perfect read for me.

I received this copy of Rapture's Edge from Montlake Romance in exchange for a honest review. This book is set for publication June 18, 2013.

Ever since a degrading incident middle school incident, Madelyne Summers has hidden her true self away and pretended to be something she wasn’t. Now on the verge of becoming a senior in high school, her world is about to come crashing apart. One of the things she has kept hidden is her love of comic books, downloading them on to her computer rather than buying the print copy. But the final issue of her favorite series isn’t going to be in electronic format and the copy she ordered didn’t show up on release day. Unwilling to wait another two months and have to avoid her favorite sites so she wouldn’t find spoilers, Maddie disguises herself and heads for the local comic book shop.
When she arrives there, the young man behind the counter, a classmate, is reading the very last copy. After much teasing, he allows her to borrow his copy of the comic book shop. Maddie discovers she likes this boy, one with whom she can be her true self. She starts lying to everyone to cover her tracks, which only leads to one huge disaster after another, including hurting Logan Scott repeatedly, something she never wanted to do.
The Summer I Became A Nerd is an adorable cautionary tale on the perils of not being true to yourself and living a life of lies. Maddie walks a tightrope between her two halves until she finally realizes she can’t continue down that path, and she also discovers that despite her worries that people would think less of her, those who matter didn’t care that she loved comic books, and that ultimately, what others thought really didn’t matter.

    The Monster's Ring

Bruce Coville is one great children's writer. Easy to read, short (about 100 pages) and page turning caliber. This was a tale with a plot and a wonderful ending. Not quite as good as the first Coville book I read but really great fun.

Time travel romance. My new favorite genre.

I am such a sucker for a good love story! They get me every time. Two people, destined to be together. Two people who find each other despite impossible odds and manage to work things out in the face of differences and fights. Kate and Julian are the newest literary couple to sail into those ranks: despite the fact that she is a 21st century investment banker on Wall Street and he is a British captain in World War I.

When multi-billionaire Julien Laurence comes in to Sterling Bates for a high profile meeting, Kate Williams is blown away that he stares at her as if he knows her. And, when he asks her out, she thinks this must be some kind of joke. But, he is insistent that he fell in love with her at first sight and she can't deny that she is drawn to him in a way that she can't explain. When Julien reveals that he is really from the past, Kate takes it all in stride. But, there is someone lurking in the shadows that will do whatever it takes to keep Kate and Julien apart....even commit murder.

Was this story perfect? No. The middle was a bit redundant - Kate and Julien constantly battled about her independence and his keeping small secrets from her in the name of protecting her. It always ended the same way - Kate agreeing to give Julien a little more time to reveal all of his secrets and Julien agreeing to give her more freedom. And then they would get into it again about the exact same thing. Also, they were perhaps just a little over-the-top lovey dovey at time.

Ultimately, I didn't care. The story was great! I loved that it was told alternating between Kate and Julien's life in the 2000's and Julien's life in 1916 on the Western Front. It was more than just a love story and included a bit of mystery and intrigue, especially regarding where the two stories would finally come together and how. I was totally swept up in Overseas and couldn't wait to see what would happen next!

While Overseas on the same plane at The Time Traveler's Wife when it comes to character development or writing style, it was entertaining and a stunning debut novel by an author I hope to see more of in the coming years. The perfect summer vacation read.
