    Hi:
I hope you are well and enjoying your reading.
I have just published a new book that I think you might find interesting. It is titled "Shared Emptiness," and deals with the turmoil, depression and hope of a family that is victimized by a horrific random act of violence. I hope you'll take a look.
    Have a great weekend.

I'm starting "Phantoms" tonight. Also added several Allison Brennan books to my book rental queue.

When you get a chance to check out any of Karin Slaughter's stuff, let me know what you think. Can't wait for her latest one - Fallen - out this summer. :o)

Sorry, I'm just starting this thing so I haven't been on as much as I should. I love Judith MacNaught -- start with Whitney, My Love, and I love Julie Garwood, and Meg Cabot (and lots of Linda Howard -- start with After the Night. I'm reading O'Hara's Choice by Leon Uris right now. I just finished Picture Perfect by Alphine -- young adult book (for my students)

It's best to read Karin Slaughter's books in order as they follow the characters' lives and relationships. They are, in order: Blindsighted, Kisscut, A Faint Cold Fear, Indelible, Faithless, Triptych, Beyond Reach (the one with the shocking ending - no peeking!), Fractured, Undone, Broken, and Fallen (which I'm eagerly looking forward to, will be released on May 31, 2011)

If you do decide to look her up, start with Blindsighted and see if you like her style. I find her books to be similar to Tami Hoag's in that it's a crime thriller/suspense but with an emphasis on forensics. The characters are what hooks you in - their relationships and what they go through. They seem real, three-dimensional with flaws and good sides. Also, there's a couple of surprising twists in the books along the way, things I thought were so cleverly written.

Re Dean Koontz - I'm not a big fan of the paranormal genre but have read a few by accident that I thought were pretty good. I'll check out both Phantoms and Intensity. Thanks! :o)

I'm currently reading "The Thirteenth Tale" by Diane Setterfield. I haven't been able to put a dent in it as I'm in the midst of several projects and can't really devote my full attention to reading like I would like to. Plus, it's a somewhat different genre than I usually read. It's supposed to be a gothic suspense, much like Jane Eyre. So it's been slow going but I think I'm finally getting to the interesting part where she finally meets the mysterious writer, Vida Winter. Yay. Hopefully the story will pick up from there.

I like Tami Hoag too. I have most of her books on my TBR pile and have only read 3 so far - Lucky's Lady, Ashes to Ashes and A Thin Red Line. I really enjoyed the last two.

Another favorite is Karin Slaughter. Wonderfully developed characters and excellent writing. She's got me hook line n' sinker and has me so invested in her characters that I will go wherever she wants me to go with her storyline. (A lot of people were upset at the shocking ending of one of her books.)

Have you read the Hunger Games trilogy by Suzanne Collins? Wow, thrilling. Couldn't put it down, read all three books one right after the other.

I'll have to check out Dean Koontz. Any particular one you recommend? :o)
