As my name indicates, I love books. I could, and have, spend hours in book stores, or the library. I like a wide range of books, anything from contemporary fiction, to non-fiction books about feminism or psychology.

Perhaps it is a throwback to my time in high school, but as soon as summer hits I want to read and re-read the classics.

    Eclectic Book Club Peeps:

All righty, let's have those nominations for our next big read. What's everyone in the mood for?

Post your selections in the "Genres" thread and we'll hash it out. If that takes too much energy, I will put all genres nominated in a hat and pick one at random!

So glad you joined Guilty (Reading) Pleasures! I thought it was about time we had a place to talk about those books we love to hate the fact that we read and own. I think there's always room to expand our lowbrow reading lol.

More exciting news at the Suspense & Thrillers Group…as you might already know that Keith Katsikas, author of “2060: The Newton Prophecies” will be leading a discussion on his book. We don’t have a date set up yet, but will in a couple of weeks.

In the meantime, Amanda Stevens, author of THE DOLLMAKER, has also agreed to lead the discussion for May’s Group Read, which is THE DOLLMAKER. I’m really excited as this is something new and might become a new trend with our group discussions. If you’ve already read the book, come join us. If not, see if you can grab a copy. There’s still time as the discussion won’t begin until the first week of May.

    Hello Desire,

I hope you would consider adding the book The North Point Boys by Danny Bynum writing as B. J. Loft to your book shelf and reading list.

Dear Desiree: I live in Haverhill,Mass, so I understand how much culture shock you must be facing moving to North Carolina. I am havingmy debut novel published in April, and I hope you will look for it. It is called HUNTING THE KING, and it will certainly distract you. Here are the details:

HUNTING THE KING is a fast-paced page-turner that follows archaeologist Molly O'Dwyer into war torn Iraq in search of the remains of Jesus. ForeWord Magazine says: "Fans of intellectual thrillers and historical fiction will find a worthy new voice in Clenott. His best invention may be Molly O’Dwyer, a genuinely likeable heroine who more than holds her own in a man’s world. An ambitious scientist, she is also an observant Catholic whose heart and mind don’t always agree. Given such an auspicious start, the sequel can't come too soon."

While the book isn't available until April, you can find it on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Kunati Books and other googleable sites. You won't be disappointed.

To get a good sense of how exciting the novel is check out the heartpounding trailer for the book at http://www.kunati.books/hunting-the-king-peter-clenott/. Or you can view it on YouTube or my web site at www.peterclenott.com. Let me know what you think. Thanks.

My best friend lives in Fuquay! I know it's kind of away from things, but Cary and Raleigh have alot of things to do! And you have to admit it is really beautiful there! I love it in Spring and Summer when there are flowers everywhere. They must spend a fortune on landscaping!
PS) I have a HUGE magazine addiction too! Maybe we should start a support group LOL!
