    The Way We’re Working Isn’t Working

    by Tony Schwartz, Jean Gomes, Catherine McCarthy
    • Rated 4 stars

    The Way We’re Working Isn’t Working is a book about the power of full engagement and what Tony calls the four forgotten needs that energize great performance. He backs up his thoughts with research and practical advice based on fundamentals to business and psychology. He literally starts the book off by defining the modern workplace in three words: more, bigger, faster. Maybe too much more in my opinion but frankly running a busy business is hard and confusing- more so if you don’t have the write people to bounce your ideas and needs off of.

    LOVE MEDICINE AND MIRACLES

    by Bernie S. Siegel M.D.
    • Rated 3 stars

    More of this review: http://agencycouture.com/brands-connecting-deeper-3-book-mentions-love-medicines-and-miracles-365-prescriptions-for-the-soul-the-stages-of-grief-by-kubler-ross/

    The stages of Grief by Kubler-Ross are identified as denial, anger, bargaining, depression and acceptance.

    * Denial (this isn’t happening to me!)
    * Anger (why is this happening to me?)
    * Bargaining (I promise I’ll be a better person if…)
    * Depression (I don’t care anymore)
    * Acceptance (I’m ready for whatever comes)

    She is writing this to people who are dying or in real turmoil, but how can you apply this to your life? Why not take hold of life now? You display these stages in more then just sickness, you can display these in brand campaigns gone bad. These stages can be shown in personal relationships, even dating.

    In the book, Love Miracles and Medicine by Bernie Seigal, the author writes, “Unconditional love is the most powerful stimulant of the immune system. The truth is: love heals. Miracles happen to exceptional patients every day–patients who have the courage to love, those who have the courage to work with their doctors to participate in and influence their own recovery.”

  • The Finishing Touches
    • Rated 5 stars

    The Finishing Touches by Hester Browne has officially moved into my top five favorite books. Hester Browne is a New York Times bestselling author and an all around great writer to begin with and I have made a point to seek out her publications (and read every last one of them) including The Little Lady Agency, Little Lady Agency and The Prince, and Little Lady Big Apple (if you know of any others please let me know).

    This combines html with css. So more of a beginners book for the two, but again you should read a base html book first to start out. I recommend taking lots of notes and emailing the harder parts to yourself that way you can use search in your mailbox to find them again.

    Good beginner to intermediate book. A little hard if you have no background, but easy to pick up.
