Have you read Fear of Flying? Pretty crass at times, but very raw and very relatable. Erica Jong has a way of expressing feelings and ideas that I have thought before but couldn't particularly put into words.. I love how she rips into double standards. I'm sure lots of women can relate to being stretched in so many directions at once - having opposing desires and wanting to reconcile two personalities into one person (does that make sense?!) If you haven't read it, I think you'd like it. I'm sure you can get a cheap paperback for $6.99.
$20 to the person who can get Betty to join! She can showcase her Danielle Steel collection!
Tell me how The Deep End of the Ocean is when you're done! I may pick it up. Also, I went to Target's classical literature section last night and Jen Lancaster has a new book out!!
who is this F'ing Ian M. is that you? are you playing games. Because, clearly, you are a play gamer. I mean a game player. I need a lobotomy.
I'll be interested in hearing if "The Only Investment Guide You Need" lives up to its title... I really enjoyed Me Talk Pretty One Day.
I never noticed Rhett's comment on here about textbooks and it made me laugh aloud :)
Will you tell me how you like "A Lesson Before Dying"? I noticed your mom was reading it too! I just finished Sense and Sensibility. Which Austen novels have you read?
I enjoyed "A Lesson Before Dying." It was sad, but also powerful.
Hannah, or should I spell it hannaH? If that textbook comment was a pun on me, I take it very personally. I only add textbooks that I actively read. It just SOOOOO happens that I like to read textbooks at my leisure.
The Jungle gave me nightmares. You'll never forget the part about how sausages were made (shiver)
Don't read A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius. I put it down in the middle, and I've only done that a few times.
Hi - tell your man to add me as a friend on here LOL
Love the multiple posts! I tried to send a message with @ followed by $$ and the system is on to me. How sad - I was hoping I was original
I see you've read Jen Lancaster's most recent book - the one with the argyle socks. How was it? I might pick it up based on your review.
You're welcome! I love that series! She has a little bit of your sass - in the best and most charming way. I think I was unemployed when I read it too, and it scared the bejeezus out of me - she was out almost two years, if I remember correctly. How's NC?
