I read constantly! I keep buying books and yet I can't walk in the library without taking home 6 or 7 books so I never have time to read the books I buy. Also I often reread my old favorites. I think I've read The Stand by Stephen King around 20 times. I need to lay off it for a while I think!

The Twilight books are good in a very adolescent, cheesey kind of way. I started reading them because I saw all my students with them and was intrigued. But they are kind of a fun Sunday afternoon or beach read. I have not heard of The Mysterious Benedict Society, but I will check it out. I am knee deep in the Likeness right now.

    Yeah! I'm glad.

Probably the best thing I've read lately is River of Darkness by Rennie Airth. Rec. it.

I'm about to start Pillars of the Earth.

I have not read Pilalrs of the Earth, but someone just recently told me it was really good, so I may have to put it on my personal summer reading list. I will add the other to my list as well. I just read In the Woods by Tana French (I think that is the last name). I saw it on a list of books that were finalists for mystery awards this year. It was REALLY good. Highly recommed. I will be in Spfld July 1-11, let's plan to have a girls' dinner.

I didn't even realize until I saw your note that there were other books and that it was a series. My mom lent me the book and my aunt had lent it to her. I thought it was interesting; I haven't read much about WWI before. I will pick up another one at the library. Have you read anything else lately?

I just read Cormac McCarthy's The Road - have you read that yet? It was pretty depressing fare for the day after Christmas, but I think you would like it.

I'm very excited that one of our favorite True Crime authors, Gregg Olsen, has joined our Shelfari group. We have a question and answer thread started and so far he has dropped by and answered our questions. Stop by and check it out!

I was having trouble with the display and not being able to edit my profile and change my picture. I finally figured out how to fix that. I had to change my display settings to make things smaller. Once I made my changes I then put my display settings back to what they were before. Unfortunately if I want to make any other changes I will have go through that process again. If you need help drop me a note and I'll tell you exactly what I did.

Oops, hit send before I was finished. How's your Summer? What have you been reading that you've loved and haven't the US Open Men's games been so much fun to watch! My favorites, Blake and Santoro and Jokovich vs. Stepanek.

It's been a crazy, busy Summer and I haven't had much time for Shelfari although as always I'm reading alot. Not this weekend though, I travelled to Yakima, Washington for a tennis tournament and won the championship for my level...whoo hoo, my first big win in competitive tennis! Watch out Sherapova...LOL, o.k. maybe not but it was fun to win at the club tennis level.

Henin is not a favorite of mine either. I did like her because she's a more petite girl as am I so I liked that she could still hang with the powerful amazonians that have become womens tennis. I lost faith in her after that Australian Open with Amelie too! I'm kind of hoping Venus will step up to the plate the way she did against Sherapova, she looked like the Venus of 2000 hope she can stay with it.

I've been deeply immersed in Wimbledon all week! Did you see Serena's painfully exciting match against Huntchnova (sp?) ? The Stand also began my love of the post apocalyptic genre and have re-read it many times over, again just recently for Eclectic book group. Thanks for your nice note and I am looking forward to seeing your profile when you have time to add it.
