    Inkheart
by Cornelia Funke ( 2 stars)

I did not enjoy Inkheart that much . I think the ideal of Meggie Folchart and her father Mortimer can read people and things out of books is interesting . That is why it got 2 stars and not one .
The story for the most part is about , Dustfinger and Mortimer . Dustfinger trying to get Mortimer to read him back into the Book Inkheart and Mortimer . wanting to read his wife out of the book . See when Meggie Folchart was three years old . Mortimer ( Mo as Meggie calls him ) while reading out loud read his wife into the book Inkheart . Three Characters came out of it in her place . Dustfinger, Capricorn, and Basta. Mo forced the 3 to leave his house and went into hiding .The book start 9 year after that , when Dustfinger shows up one night at Mo and Meggie home . Mo and Meggie take off to go into hiding again , but this time Dustfinger goes with them . The place they go to is Elinor home . Elinor is the aunt of Mo's wife . At Elinor home , Capricorn men take Mo , and Dustfinger , Meggie , and go to get him back . the three are of course captured . The four break out with the help of Farid, A boy who was read out of the story One Thousand and One Nights by Mo. the group splits up . Elenor goes to her home . While Mo and Meggie go to see the writer of Inkheart , his name is Fenoglio. While Mo is picking up Elenor , Capricorn men find Meggie and take her and Fenoglio to Capricorn. Where they find out Meggie can read things out of books too . When Mo finds out what happens . He and Elinor go to get her back , they run into Dustfinger , and Farid. Who are there to steal the last copies of the book Inkheart . They team up and come up with a plan to save Meggie .
Now you would think this book would have lots of actions and plot twist , but I found that it did not . Also I could not care about the Characters. I liked Elinor and Meggie . But the rest I found myself not caring about what happened to them . Over all I do not recommend this book . I am not sure if I will read the 2ND book

Hi Daye - I clicked on your profile because it showed up in the section for other members that have the same books as you, and I love your shelf! You have so many good reads. I read The Privilege of the Sword by Ellen Kushner, but not Swordspoint...yet. Do you recommend it?

Yes, I like them. But they're definitely fantasy, so I don't know if they're your cup of tea. Aidan loves them inordinately. Gregor likes them enough to read them before me.

I've been back and forth a few times. I had one of the librarians laugh when I checked out The Rivers of Zadaa, saying "This is due back June 4th, Or tomorrow, whenever you finish."
Lexicon says HBP15 where it lists Occlumency under Draco's skills. I don't have the books handy (still buried in boxes from coming home!), so I'm not sure if that's it.
