Welcome to my modest shelf, which will remain under construction indefinitely! My shelf consists mostly of books that I own or those that I am currently reading or plan to read as soon as I possibly can.

I am currently an English teacher at the high school level, although I have taught college composition as well. My course load includes one class of AP Literature, one class of freshman English, and three classes of honors level American literature (for juniors). The classroom is one of my favorite places to be when I am not home, curled up reading or writing or spending time on the computer, checking my AP English listserve messages!

While I enjoy reading all genres, my favorites include poetry and memoir, which are also the two genres that I work with the most in terms of my own writing. My plans for my own work are to merge the two in a memoir of my childhood. Until a clear structure emerges for my memoir, I will spend my time outside of the classroom writing short poems and personal essays.

I live in Connecticut with my husband and two cats, Buddy and Persephone. « less
