• Pioneered meaningful worship for contemporary believers, the integration of the arts, and the use of lay gifts
• Established a racially integrated staff and congregation and elevated the role of women
• Experimented with practical response tools for measurable growth
• Launched Step 2 to train pastors in renewal principles nationally
• Became director of the national radio broadcast "The Chapel of the Air" and immediately designed programs to support the local church (1977-1998)
• Received an honorary doctorate from Indiana Wesleyan University for his role in contributing to the life of the national church
• Began 50-Day Spiritual Adventures as a way to link religious media to the local church and to the local religious radio outlet
• Established the daily national television show "You Need to Know"
• Won Programmer of the Year Award from National Religious Broadcasters in 1995
• Formed Mainstay Church Resources to provide spiritual growth tools for the local church, which eventually was used by 15,000 churches and millions of laypeople
• Created the Advent Celebration, a Christmas series for busy pastors
• Developed the Mainstay Model, a sermon preparation tool to radically transform the effectiveness of preaching
• Created www.Sermon-Coach.com, a sermon and worship service Web site to provide tools for local pastors
