J.T. LeRoy is a made up identity--but even if he wasn't--the book is horrible.

...The sad truth is– the stories of the [real] lives of abused children were taken advantage of and mocked by this pointless, empty, and just plain bad book written by a non-talented writer. I resented having my face forcibly pushed into the foul smelling feces contained within the text. That is the best way I can think of describing the feeling I had as I was reading.

I hated it. I am not going to read Sarah and I urge all of you not to read these books either–unless you are glutton for punishment.

It may have been a mistake to read The Road by Cormac McCarthy before
reading this play but in any case--I simply did not enjoy this.

The characters don't seem real or human to me. Yes, there is little or no reason for happiness
in the existence they find themselves in -- but during times of struggle, we as human beings can still
show compassion and believe in hope. There is little or none within the main characters.

    It's bleak but meaningless.

I have not finished this book yet but I have already been moved by it.
A few times in public -I'd become teary eyed and would have to place it down.
I think this will easily become an important piece of literature -not only of this time--but
for future generations. It will cause readers to both weep and feel uplifted.
