I'm a Welsh girl born on the 3rd June 1989. I'm currently at university studying a bachelors degree in Politics and Philosophy at Queen's University Belfast. Why I chose those subjects at that location, I have no idea, I'm kind of impulsive like that. I've always been a reader and a fantasist, I blame eldest-child-syndrome, spent far too much... more »

I know that feeling :) and I remember when I was near to finishing that book, I was so happy when they finally end up together and I made a break before I continued reading and when I came back to the book, next passage was about how she died ..that was so sad and unexpected ending, I'm always for happy endings :) and that book is one of best books I read lately, so I'm also looking forward to the film they made :) you can check out trailer on YouTube ^^

Hi Danielle - yes, Never Let Me Go was about so-many things. It's so strange that people seem to interpret it as being about just one concept, which in my opinion was just a vehicle the author used to explore many rich themes relevant to all of our lives. In the film version I'm really glad Mulligan played Kathy and Knightley played Ruth(?) Mulligan definitely comes out the stronger of the two actresses, although Knightley's played some good roles in the past. She wasn't particularly strong in this. If you've not seen Mulligan in "An Education" you really should try it. Hope you enjoy the film when you get around to seeing it. The film of The Remains of the Day is superb. Some of the best acting in it I've ever seen. And you really need to listen to the commentary afterwards too, Emma Thomson is very funny and very truthful in it!

So glad you read Never Let Me Go -- knew you'd love it! I couldn't get it out of my head for ages after I finished it. Film adaptation couldn't possibly hope to be as good as the book, but I loved the film too. Mulligan's performance, was outstanding, though the acting throughout was pretty good.

I'm a big e-reader fan. But I just had a conversation with some of the people on the site and they don't want to let go of the paper, the smell, etc. I guess I should have asked if they had iPods or were they holding on to all those jewel cases. But I didnt want to seem mean. Love new technology!

I need to know so I know if I want to buy a copy. I'm one of the few avid electronic readers on this site & this book is not available for download. So I am very interested in your thoughts. Do I need to acquire a physical copy?

Another good movie from a Latin actress is Salma Hayek as Frida Kahol. The book. THE LUCUNA by Kingsolver has a lot about Kahol and Trotsky's murder.

Yes, also loved the old ones. Remember being ABSOLUTELY stunned after seeing Manhatten SOOOOO many years ago. The later ones only 'Hannah and her sisters' and 'Vicky et al' were not bad.
