Dandi Mackall

I write books for every age, and I suppose I'm ADD of writers because I'm interested in everything. I write horse books, like Winnie the Horse Gentler series and Horse Files. But I have a new line of rhyming picture books, called Dandilion Rhyme (A Gaggle of Geese, The Blanket Show). I write funny, contemporary teen fiction, like CRAZY IN LOVE;... more »

First of all thanks for adding me to your friends' list. To start with, our group SYREDOM has initiated a discussion on art versus creativity (inborn capacity). Your input in it would strengthen the group. Without you our group is nothing. So welcome to join our group Syredom by initiating to be its member and giving your precious comments on the on-going discussion. M.Syre.

Hi Dandi - Thanks for accepting the invitation. Though we write different genre, we're all writers. I'm waiting for my Writers Digest book release in about 6 days--Writing the Christian Romance. I love romantic suspnese and women's fiction, too, but somehow I started writing romance and volia -- 40 novels later, I'm still including romance in my books.

Okay, funny story. I am a homeschool mom of two. My daughter loves to write and was in Dontia Paul's teen critique group. I have spent alot of timing helping my daughter write but never thought about writing myself. Until one day a few weeks ago when God threw an idea in my head, I could not shake. I thought it was crazy for me to be writing, but I felt overwhelmed by the story and felt like I had to write it. The next day while in the car, I turned on the radio and you were being interviewed. I will never forget your words. You said, "there are people out there right now that God has given a story to need to write that story." That impacted my heart and I am writing my first story. I have 5 chapters so far. When I saw you were one of Donita's "friends" on this web site, I just had to write and tell you thank you!

Thanks for inviting me to be your friend. I see a lot of your books that my daughter would probably love. In fact, she was looking over my shoulder and asking about them. Larger than Life Lara we looked at because my daughter is also in fourth grade.

The list is a little way down, and I also have a list of When I Was Just a Kid author interviews, but early December will be a special YA/Children's Authors feature. And go to http://www.crystal-miller.com for email.

No, probably wrong Crystal Miller! (Ack, name change is in store for me.) There is another CM who has written a book in the CBA.

I work freelance(first reader/editing) for many people you probably know. Would love to have you in my Kids Who Grew Up to Write for Kids feature on my blog in December. If you check the list of interviewees, maybe you could contact one of them to contact me? I think you were at Mt.Hermon when I was, but we have not formally met. I've also published reviews of over 500 books in the Christian market (both a column and in Christian magazines.)

    Glad you are here!

I love your books! I agree that we must have met at some time...bet we met at Zondervan at some point, though I've also been to CBA many times. I've been both an in-house and freelance editor for Z and lived in Grand Rapids for 15 years. I also edit for Nelson. Who knows? It's a small world.
