I'm a simple person trying to make sense of the world.. ("It's easier to die in a world that you understand that to live in a world that doesn't make sense") I think I got that quote from 'Geronimo' - correct me if I'm wrong :)I'm open to having new friends which interest me as much as reading Roald Dahl's books. I LOVE Roald Dahl. He's one of a...more »

because of what you've said about your country i like your country.
i like it the way that people are free to chose what they want to be.
    ya
    eid mobarak to you too.
i don't know when in iran are gona learn how to trust technology, but people in iran never know when is eid.
iranian government dont believe in technology so they have to see the new moon in the darkest places out of town.but....i don't trust them either.
for me eid is wendesday and i already took a day off.if they pray in the musqes on wednesday,i will join people.i want my kids get closer to this nice treditional religious ocasion.but if not,i will stay home and take my time with my kids.
    by the way.
i thought you have already my email address.
i am gona send it to you again.
enjoy your days off with your family.it is really nice being around the family.i hope one day i could be with them for many ocasions....
    peace to the world

you started it sooner than the others.
when do you celebrate it?in iranian calender it says Wednesday.but i know that people are gona have 3 day in a row.
some celebrate in tomorrow(Tuesday)some Wednesday and some Tursday.
i am celebrating it on Wednesday.and i don't care about moslems fight over what ever they call.i just know by Iran's geophysic institute that Wednesday is the first day of new moon.and that is enough for me.if moslems say the eid preyer on Wednesday,i will go and pray with them.i want my kids be involve with tredition of islam and iranian habit in one of the happiest days for moslems and iranian people.so i took day off for this day and will take my kids and i have plan to spend the day with them having fun.
i wish you a nice one as well.

damn ur one avid reader...hey howdie...humble apologies for being unable to respond earlier...yep I am trying to squeeze in some reading along with work...rite nw goin thru 'the double' by dostoevsky...pretty absorbing...the motif being the schism in the central character's persona...the defining philosphical work which led to dr jerkyll, steppenwolf nd most importantly his later works in Crime and Punishmnet,The brothers karamazov.

yes i will send it to you and we could talk easier.
i liked the kite runner too.as you mentioned it was good at the begining and then slow and then fast again.my american friend did not like Soraya's character at all.she said i didn't get in touch with her at all.
about Amir's character, most of the people don't like it.they expect every one be brave and be like hassan.every one be perfect but i say what the perfect word means is on people's eyes.everything is beautiful because of the differences.i liked it that he was got introduced as a weak timid, selfish character actually.because from the begining it broak all of the thought of being hero.but i also liked it the way that the writer brought that fear up and put it together as a fist to the Taliban's soldier with the little hands of that little kid.
to me it was like putting this huge fear during long time war and fear and teror in afghanistan, that fear could get together with the new hands, new young energy and become afghanistan'e surviver.
the fear in Amir is everyone's fear and he was not proud of it but on the other hand he was what he was.
and the last part i liked the most was the little smile on that little kid,to me that was the deppresed face of Afghanistan which is the smile of hope ,opening a window to the future of this country.
it had lots of weak points but it was nice reading it.

    thanks
and i don't remember if you are moslim or not to go for fasting or not....any way if you are a moslim happy ramedan to you too.and if not ,it still works.
ya take your time,we could always talk.
    i liked the book
at the beggining it start interesting and then it became some how boring to me and in the third part when amir headed back home,it was like running down on a hill...
    really liked it.
usually the first time i read a book,i'd rather to go back and read it again.this was i could keep it mind for ever but if i read it only once without revewing it,i'll forget it.there are lots of books that i am sure i've read them before but now i don't even remember how they were started.
for this book i don't mind reading it again.

    hey dearest
finally i finished the kite runner and i have to admit that i reallyliked it....it gives me some picture of the way afghanistan is....i feel so close to them now even though i thought far away from them before but now i feel different....
you probabely don't know about the history of my country and what is in common between us..
afghanistan was part of iran long long time ago...they speak farsi (the same as iran's language)
but the accent and lots of words in their language is different than us but we understand each other....
    so
we can talk about it now....if you would ....

i still didn't have this chance to finish it.it seems since amir got out of afganistan,i stayed there...
i had to slow down...actually way down....most of the time i don't have time to red it...and when i have the chance i am able to red only a few pages...
it's ok..that will be finished just like the others.
    i'm glad you are back

i haven't finish it yet but yes i like it.
you've been talking about Amir's character...
i know what you say bet the most importan thing to me is geting to know more Afghans.
It's been a long time that we are living with them.In my country Iran, there are many afghani living there but most of our people don't know anything about their culture...or where they come from.
This book is explaining lots of things about afghanistan and what brought it to this point we see just now...tells me about how a man has to take his rutes out of his own land because os others who are sitting in his country and makes rules for his people even though they are not belongs there.....and thinking about how many more times this is gona happen?
about Amir's charactor i have to say i like it because the author didn't try to make a hero of his character ...and instead he created a real person with his fears and his regular thoughts....not every one is fammilier with mercy, not every one is a hero like Hasan.
people become what they are during what happens to them in their life time....
    sorry i wrote too much.
