I love to read, always have and always will. I can get lost in a book store for hours-making lists and wishing I had more time to read, more money to buy, and more room to keep my lovely books. I have read every book listed on my shelves, not to say that I liked every book, but I did read it. I love this site to get new ideas and to add to my... more »

Happy Valentine's to you, too- Thank you. We spent the day at a country inn in Georgia celebrating my Grandfather's 82nd birthday. The food and fellowship were good. I am reading "Memoirs of Geisha", I am not too far in, but I like it so far. I finished the "Twilight" series a few weeks ago- I really liked the first three books, but i didn't care for "Breaking Dawn"- I thought it was a little sloppy and I was disappointed. I give the series 3.5 stars/ 5 overall. What are you reading?

I will probably finish Eclipse this evening and start Breaking Dawn tomorrow. The series has been good so far, but I have gotten bogged down a couple of times. So far, I like the first book best. I have heard some very mixed reviews about the 4th book- but I am glad to have the opportunity to make up my own mind. I will touch base with you when I am done and let you know my overall thoughts. Everything at the library is fine. Thanks for asking.

Hi Dana- I hope you had a Merry Christmas and/or Happy Hannukah...and certainly a happy New Year. It's been a while since i've written so i wanted to say hello. I am reading the "Twilight" saga- yep, I am a guy and i am reading it and actually i am totally enthralled. I had my doubts, but it's really cool that so many people on Shelfari have read it and so many people are willing to discuss. I received a sizable Amazon gift certificate from my Dad and i have been busy ordering it up. I have ordered from the complex- Rainer Maria Rilke to the rowdy- Charles Bukowski to the light, but fun Stephenie Meyer...so anyway- what are you reading and what have you been up to? Oh yeah, I've got a new job working at my local public library, so now I can claim to be a true bibliophile! Talk to you soon. Jason R.

Hey Dana- I loved Owen Meany and like John Irving in general (except for Hotel New Hampshire). The movie adaptation "Simon Birch" is decent, too- what do you think? I am reading "Hearts in Atlantis" by Stephen King right now, I like it, but don't love it- it is promising and I hope it gets better. We had a miserable windy and rainy day, but over all it has been nice. How are things up your way?

Hi Dana! Judging by your rating, I guess "The Idiot Girl....." is worth reading? I read the summary and thought about adding it to the list of books I plan to read;)

Hey Dana, I am just dropping by to say a quick hello. I am reading "A Thousand Splendid Suns" by Khaled Hosseini- his follow up to "The Kite Runner". It is still really hot here- in the 90's everyday- I am really ready for fall and weather in the low 70's and 60's. What have you been up to lately?

Hey Dana- I looked for the Stephanie Kallos book at my local public library, but they didn't have it. I'll try to remember to order it the next time i get an Amazon gift certificate. How are things on Long Island? Do you have any good bookstores or libraries or do you have to go into the city? Take care, Jason

Hey Dana- thanks for the recommendation- I will add it to my plan to read list. I am currently reading "The Picture of Dorian Gray" by Oscar Wilde. I plan either to read "Emma" by Jane Austen or finish up "Rebecca" by Daphne du Maurier. All British stuff. Keep in touch.
