I love to read, always have and always will. I can get lost in a book store for hours-making lists and wishing I had more time to read, more money to buy, and more room to keep my lovely books. I have read every book listed on my shelves, not to say that I liked every book, but I did read it. I love this site to get new ideas and to add to my... more »

Was it Julie on here who quotes J. Patrick Lewis's

Please bury me in the library
    In the clean, well-lighted stacks
    Of Novels, History, Poetry
    Right next to the Paperbacks.

    Where the Kids' Books dance
    With True Romance
    And the Dictionary dozes,
Please bury me in the library
    With a dozen long-stemmed proses.

Way back by a rack of Magazines,
I won't be sad too often
If they bury me in the library
    With Bookworms in my coffin.

Says it all really................. If you're on Long Island, you'll probably know THE ON TRACK BOOKSTORE in the old railway depot at Southold. There aren't enough good second-hand bookstores round that you can miss one! Canio's at Sag Harbour is ok - I went to a poetry reading there this Summer! I never made the Black Cat bookstore on Shelter Island! Shame..... I had ten days or so on the beach at Mattituck this Summer. Nice quiet place!

    Regards, Michael.

Ohhh I really liked the Wally Lamb book you're reading. It was the first book I read for book club! I had been invited by an aquaintance and I read that GIANT book and i liked it so much and was so pleased with myself for completing it before the meeting...on the day of the meeting I was calling her and calling her but she never picked up. I liked that book so much that I went by myself to a stranger's house to talk about it with 10 other strangers! Ha! Here I am, 6 years later, running that book club.

Wow, hi- it's been a while. I just noticed your avatar and it made me smile. I am reading Ken Follet's THE PILLARS OF THE EARTH and I really like it. I am doing well otherwise. Drop me a line sometime and let me know how you are doing. Jason

Thanks so much for the friend invite! We seem to have alot of the same taste book wise. I checked out your favorites shelf and we share many favorite books. I love Jennifer Weiner and didn't realize I had missed the book you are currently reading, added it to my wish list of course. Look forward to discussing good books, etc, with you.

how flattering! LOL Hope I shelve something that you didn't know you wanted. I have found quite a few very good books here in that way.

When I found this site I was really just looking for a way to list the books I have read just for my own recall. I really did get so much more out of it.

I miss Higbie Bagels. LOL No such thing as a good bagel in FL. Pizza or chinese, either. I love food about as much as I love books. LOL

Hey Dana - thanks for accepting! It was overwhelming - that you are in WI, your desire for more time, money, and book space - then add in the common book #...I thought you were me. LOL I was in WI for 10 years - I miss it very much.

Hey Dana- I loved Owen Meany and like John Irving in general (except for Hotel New Hampshire). The movie adaptation "Simon Birch" is decent, too- what do you think? I am reading "Hearts in Atlantis" by Stephen King right now, I like it, but don't love it- it is promising and I hope it gets better. We had a miserable windy and rainy day, but over all it has been nice. How are things up your way?

Hi Dana! Judging by your rating, I guess "The Idiot Girl....." is worth reading? I read the summary and thought about adding it to the list of books I plan to read;)
