I love books and reading to an obsessive degree, I cannot go anywhere without a book. I visit a used or new bookstore at least once a week (all 4 used bookstores in driving distance know me by name.) I carry around a bigger purse so I can fit a paperback in- being stuck somewhere without reading material is on par with my fear of deep water with...more »

Vampires, Witches & Were’s all that
would like to invite you to participate in the ABC contest starting on July 1, 2008.
I will post a thread that has the letters of the ABC's list, then start your own thread for example mine would be Sherry's ABC's and list the books that you read with those letters has the first letter in any title of book, it doesn't have to be in the genre either. Each person will be responsible for sending me their points via the group email at vampireswitchesweresallthat@yahoo.com. For every book you read during the time period (until the next letters are posted) you will receive 10 points in the email you must list the title, author, and pages so that if there is tie, we will use page count to break the tie. Everyone is eligible to win, even admin's as a third party will be keeping track of the points for me...so post the books you read...I will post the first letters on July 1.

    As always happy reading..
Show me the books he loves and I shall know the man
far better than through mortal friends.

More exciting news at the Suspense & Thrillers Group…as you might already know that Keith Katsikas, author of “2060: The Newton Prophecies” will be leading a discussion on his book. We don’t have a date set up yet, but will in a couple of weeks.

In the meantime, Amanda Stevens, author of THE DOLLMAKER, has also agreed to lead the discussion for May’s Group Read, which is THE DOLLMAKER. I’m really excited as this is something new and might become a new trend with our group discussions. If you’ve already read the book, come join us. If not, see if you can grab a copy. There’s still time as the discussion won’t begin until the first week of May.

Dear Damfino: I'm from Massachusetts. It is safe to go back in the water. My debut novel is not about sharks. But as a member of the Suspense and Thriller Shelfari group, you might be interested in it. I'm sure there's room in your handbag for it. It's called HUNTING THE KING, and it should be in a boostore near your house in April. Here are the details:
HUNTING THE KING is a fast-paced page-turner that follows archaeologist Molly O’Dwyer into war torn Iraq in search of the remains of Jesus. ForeWord Magazine says: “Fans of intellectual thrillers and historical fiction will find a worthy new voice in Clenott. His best invention may be Molly O’Dwyer, a genuinely likeable heroine who more than holds her own in a man’s world. An ambitious scientist, she is also an observant Catholic whose heart and mind don’t always agree. Given such an auspicious start, the sequel can’t come too soon.”

To get a good sense of how powerful the book is, check out the heartpounding booktrailer on YouTube or on my web site at www.peterclenott.com. It is like watching a preview for an exciting movie. The novel is equally exciting.

While it isn’t out until April, you can find it on Amazon.com, Barnes & Noble, and Kunati Books. I hope you’ll take a look. And let me know what you think.

    Thanks. Peter.

Hey, I just took that book quiz. Here are my results:

    You're Cat's Cradle
    by Kurt Vonnegut
You believe quite firmly that free will deserted you long ago and far away. As a result, it's hard to take responsibility for anything. Even though you show great potential as a leader of a small 3rd world country, the choices are all made ahead of time. You're rather fond of games involving string. Your fear of nuclear weaponry is trumped only by your fear of ice.
