Hi Dakota. It's really hard for me to relate to someone who doesn't like to read, because I've loved it my whole life. But is there a particular type of story you lean towards more than others? If you like romantic comedies, the Nerd Series by Vicki Lewis Thompson is fun and pretty easy to read. If you like suspense, James Patterson or David Morrell are both excellent. Susan Elizabeth Phillips writes romance. And, of course, if you like contemporary cowboys, there's always my book, Heart of Stone. :D
Good luck. I hope you find something here that you will enjoy! (Pride and Prejudice might now be the right one!)
How are you getting on with Pride & Prejudice then? If you don't like to read but want to read then I would think it would be good to initially look at books that are good but easy to read. Try The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman it's a great story, really well written and an easy read.
I don't see a lot of ghost stories, specifically. I haven't read Twilight although I heard I should. I was told it was a young adult book so it's not quite up my alley. I like my vampires a lot more exciting. If you're looking for paranormal, I'm a real fan of Sherrilyn Kenyon's Dark Hunter and Dream Hunter series. If you like historical romance ala Regency period, I love Julia Quinn and Victoria Alexander to name two. If you like thriller/suspense, Brenda Novak and Cherry Adair are two favs. You find a book on my bookshelf with 4-5 stars, they're all favorites and on my Keeper Shelf. The trick to finding books you'll enjoy reading is to try different genres until something grabs you. Then, you can focus on finding specific authors in that genre.
I can recommend a variety of authors if I know what you DO think you might like to read. Basing this answer on the things that interest is a great place to start. Do you like to watch movies with a suspense element, paranormal elements [ghosts, vampires, etc.] What books have you enjoyed?
For a non reader I would have to suggest some of my favorites like Strange Angels by Lili St. Crow, Need by Carrie Jones, The Summoning by Kelley Armstrong, I'd Tell You I Love You But Then I'd Have To Kill You by Ally Carter, The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins, and all the Maximum Ride books by James Patterson. Those were some of my absolute favorites. If you need more suggestions just tell me because I have a lot more. I hope you like them. Most are fantasy, but there are a few sci-fi ish ones and one kind of realistic fiction.
Hi. I joined this site for the same reasons you did, though I do read A LOT! I suggest you try reading Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead or Wings by Aprilynne Pike. Both are amazing books and I hope you like them (If you choose to read them).
