I'm a 20 year old bibliophile from Connecticut, USA and I am currently a student at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore. Aside from reading I enjoy fencing, long walks in the moonlight, and raising the living dead. Though my neighbors have raised complaints about the latter....

I have more of an interest in your obviously twisted sense of humour, actually, but open to new experiences!

If you're a Shatner fan, I recommend reading "Get A Life!", where he goes "undercover" (but apparently everyone knew it was him) to interview people who attend Star Trek conventions. Very funny read!

Was just looking through your shelf for fun and was surprised how much we have in common--not just in what we've read, but a lot of the ones you have on your shelf, I'm familiar with and would like to read when I have time. Very cool, you have good taste. Nice to meet you. :)

    Hi:

I thought you might be interested in a contest. It’s wacky, creative and ‘killer’ fun. ‘Create a Corpse’ Contest lets you name a character in my suspense novel Divine Justice. Of course, you guessed it—the character dies

For contest details, just scroll over the following URL, copy and paste into your browser. This is a great contest for avid readers who’d like to be part of the process. I look forward to receiving your entries. :)

    Hi:

I’m touching base with all my Shelfari friends since it’s been so hectic lately and doesn’t seem like it’s going to slow down. I have just started my Fall/Winter Book Tour, after recently completing a 1-month virtual book tour (VBT) that was quite exciting. If you’d like to check out my VBT, please go to: http://www.whalesongbook.com/virtual-tour-2007.

If you are in the Edmonton area, or traveling to Edmonton, Alberta, between now and Christmas, please check out my book signing schedule. I would LOVE to meet some of my Shelfari friends in person.

And don’t forget, if you order any of my books (Whale Song makes an awesome gift for any woman or young girl in your life), please contact me and ask for a FREE autographed bookplate and bookmark.

    Happy reading!

Hope classes are starting well for you. Don't miss seeing the aquarium!
Just a quick note to let you know we stopped reading The Golden Compass. I promise we tried to get through but maybe it's a book better read to oneself than aloud. I've talked with a number of folks with children since and got similar responses so it could be their age. It was suggested though that the story does pick up (we ended right where the children are being kidnapped)and the next two are even better.
Also, wanted to thank you for introducing me to the Horrible Histories. They are a hoot and I'm passing my recommendations along gladly.

    Hi,
We went to see Pirates of the Carribbean 3 last night and saw a preview that thrilled the boys. The movie is The Golden Compass and it comes out in December--plenty of time to read the book!!! Did you like the book and would you recommend it?
    Thanks!!

I didn't put Horrible Histories down under "to read" for my boys and I was racking my brain and the internet to see if I could remember enough or type in just the right word to bring up something that would ring a bell. I'm so glad I checked your shelf again! I can order some/most of those books online at Amazon and they looked like fun Summer reading. We are just finishing Indian in the Cupboard.
After I read The Road I wanted something lighthearted so I've read I Don't Like My Neck and Pull of the Moon--both speak to me! Have you come across a wonderful read lately?
