Brilliant Book. I loved the way the character went from youth to age and he filled it in in each ages perspective. Beautifully written, extremely descriptive, and gave me a new view on the music I've listened to since i was a child.
I love the theory that punk is better than poetry because the lyrics are more truthful and sum up what you feel more truly than any wordy poem.
the story was a sad one, but it had a lot of positive points.
the one thing i would change is King's tendency to make huge run on sentences that last 1, if not too pages straight. just descriptions. he can make you taste and smell every scenario he puts you in, but punctuation would be a plus.
i would def. recommend King, and I can tell he's going to be one of my favorite authors.

Bland Bland Bland... straight out of the college course of punk and subculture. I was expecting something more comprehensive, but this is more....textbook.
oh well, an interesting additive to my collection nonetheless..

This book, both made me laugh so hard i shot corona out of my nose, and also question whether or not i ever wanted to drink another corona again. the reason? i saw too much of myself in Tucker Max, and that scared the hell out of me.
the book was mean spirited, offensive, and vulgar, and that's why it will be considered it a classic.
But i don't think I would ever want to run into this man.

This Book was amazing. I really love Janice Erlbaum's writing style. I really get into the story, and I can relate to her, because I think she may just be as cynical and goofy as I am. I have so been in her shoes. This book proves the age old "never trust a junkie". And although you know it, you still have the urge to help these lost puppy dogs, although half the time you end up enabling them. Janice'[s experience made me look back and reassess my own bad judgment in the past, and see it with a kinder light.
Actually, all of ms. Erlbaum's books do this for me. She really knows her shite, and her flowing narrative is really makes that bitter pill of reality alot easier to swallow.
I don't care what it's about, if this woman writes any more books, sign me up immediately!

It was cool to get a further story on Catch the demon from Lamb. As usually, wicked funny.. not his best, but i believe it was his first? he had to warm up to the genius that his later books convey. Def. a fun read, and his wit is as cutting as usual... comparing someones cooking to genocide for example.
And there are alot of familiar characters which is always fun. I like how all of his books are conjoined in someway giving us a deeper understanding of Moore's twisted yet ingenious brain...

I really liked the book, & the premise. It was a bit too young adult for me though.
    definitely a fun vacation read.

  • Grave Sight (Harper Connelly Mysteries, Book 1)
    • Rated 3 stars

    Meh....it was alright.
i couldn't get involved in the characters like i usually do with her novels. It was also extremely predictable. I guessed who the murderer would be as soon as he was introduced, & i gather the plot twist well before it happened.
Although the concept was neat, The whole thing was rather flat. There were little snippets that proved what a great writer she can be, but it's definitely not one of Charlaine's best books..
I don't think I'm reading the rest of the series.

Brilliant. the characters are amazing, and all the different ways the story is told is a really fresh take. i like hows there is letters, articles, songs, poetry, all mixed in with the narative. it makes it feel like you're hunting down a little part of these peoples history.
the only reason why i didnt give it 5 stars is because the amount of characters and the hopping around made it confusing. I couldnt figuire who's dad was who, who was into what, and i think the descriptions on the back actually made it all the more confusing because it's not that on point.
    but otherwise??? amazing book.

  • Breaking Dawn (The Twilight Saga, Book 4)
    • Rated 2 stars

I love this series..that's why this was such a let down. It was so predictable! Stephanie Meyer seems to have gotten inspiration off of fan fiction, not her brilliant mind. and honestly, she writes a good story but she really should take a writing class. there was so much repetition, she has Anne Rice beat.
I'm just so dissapointed. she gave every one what they wanted, to the tee, which means there was no point in reading it. and man, how damn slow.
if you know what's good for you, stop at eclipse before breaking dawn ruins the whole series for you...
