  • Such a Pretty Fat: One Narcissist's Quest To Discover if Her Life Makes Her Ass LookBig, Or Why Pie is Not The Answer
    • Rated 1 stars

I wish I could mark this "Couldn't finish" but there isn't such a selection. I got maybe an 1/8 of the way through this book before realizing that reading it made me feel bitter. I have no doubt the author is funny and entertaining, but in this book she just comes off as fat, bitter, and angry and I had no desire to finish reading any more of her complaining. Maybe it gets better further on, but for now I don't have the time to waste trying to get to the good stuff.

The early Evanovich romances just good, fun, quick reads. This one is about a traffic reporter named Daisy. There is somewhat of a mystery and lots of romance. It's fun to see the ancestors of my favorite characters from her Stephanie Plum novels.

This book reminded me of Francesca Lia Blocks stuff, but I enjoyed hers more. This book had more of a hard bratty teen edge that I don't really like. The writing itself was witty but I guess it's just not my kind of book. It was a very fast read though. I would reccomend Block though to anyone that enjoys the fantastical side of the story and great writing.

This is only my second Roth novel and I have to say, I think I'm a fan. This book was so interesting to me, the whole idea of alternate history was something I hadn't explored in book form before. The writing style is unique and the story captivating. The ending was a bit abrupt for me, but other than that I would highly reccomend it.

  • Perfect on Paper: The (Mis)adventures of Waverly Bryson
    • Rated 4 stars

I enjoyed this book, it was a fun chick lit type of read. The main character Waverly seems to feel she is kind of odd for her personality quirks and still being single, but you find that she is so relatable and like so many other women we all know or are. I couldn't help but picture the movie in my mind, it would make for the perfect movie for girls night out. The ending was super mega ultra happy, which I personally enjoy, especially after some of the more serious stuff I've been reading/read lately.

Funny, I didn't realize how much I enjoyed this book until it's been a few days and I find myself still thinking about it. It was funny and quick witted. I loved Sookie and think I will read more from this series. ******SPOILER ALERT(maybe)******For those of us older readers of the Twilight series, I'll just say this book paid off in ways the sexual buildup in that series never did, wow. ;)

  • The Book of Ruth (Oprah's Book Club)
    • Rated 4 stars

I listened to this on audiobook and I think the fact that I really enjoyed the reader's voice was a plus. This book was very raw and sad. The ending was kind of odd, I thought the "tragic" event was built up too much and maybe the author went overboard to make up for having an entire book leading up to that point, I don't know. I didn't know this was an Oprah book when I picked it, otherwise I don't think I would have read it, but I did enjoy it overall.

A wonderful ending to a great series. I was often surprised in the direction the story went but loved it. I liked seeing Bella mature and living such a happy life. I hope to hear more from this world and the other characters in it. I wanted to re-read this book right after finishing it, that's a sign of a timeless novel to me.

Grandma moves in with SP and Ranger is an FTA...hilarity ensues. ;) I loved the Morelli ending in this book and there were several laugh out loud moments. I can't get enough of SP.

I like the idea of a "major life change" but could not stand the characters in this book. This just isn't my type of read, had it not been a book club selection I would never have read it. But, I'm sure it will make a good chick flick.
