Crake

I work in a book store, which can be quite fun... at times. You can find new books, recommend books to others, and generally fondle books all day.

When not at work, I may read to my cockatiels. They enjoy picture books and Edward Gorey, I think. They like to nibble them anyway.

I love Portland! Are you going to OCAC? I was actually considering moving to Portland a bit ago, but decided to go to Fairhaven instead. I'll have to come visit you. You know, if that's alright with you...

Well, I'm currently living in the proud township known as Bellingham, Washington, where I eek out an existance as a bike bum/donut maker. Most of my time is spent tickling flowers and running up staircases, with an occasional break for school-related labour. It's a fairly charming existance, though I still have dreams of high-sea adventures. What about you?

I loved Brave New World! Dystopian fiction always make me feel really nostalgic for some inexplicable reason... and Huxley is a beautiful crazy old man. And Love in the Time of Cholera is GORGEOUS-- but come to think of it, you might just shake your fist at the characters the entire way. But there's a pretty bird... what is this Maladies claptrap of which you speak?

erm, it's going alright. definitely a lot different over the phone compared to face-to-face, especially when there's SO MUCH we can't say. i definitely miss the books. i haven't been reading nearly as much now that i'm not around them all day. and my dear, i've got a few kids' books on my shelf 'cause i taught preschool. i haven't gotten around to putting nearly as many on there as i have read. so there, beat that. :p

I sometimes see listings for books from them on Amazon. I still have yet to actually set foot in the store though. Good finds, I take it? And..erm. a bit of lack of sleep is what I see? Ma burds are insane, ma burds are insane.... cause they have fluff...on the membrane. Yo. Burd up. :)

Understood. I think the reason why i've never developed stereotypically girly-girl habits ( shopping compulsively for shoes, ogling purses, liking pink, caring about what my cell phone ringtone says about me as a person) is because I spend too much time shunning babies. It’s a lot of work shunning babies because those things are everywhere. Every time I find myself leaping into sewer drains and crawling into ventilation shafts to avoid them, I have to wonder; why are tiny, screaming ham-shaped people with stubby, uncontrollable appendages and haphazard bodily functions so popular anyway?

While mercilessly cleaning, i happened upon a card that i've been keeping with you in mind. It's for the Rock Hopper Coffee House on Whidbey. It's chock full of penguin propaganda... day trip?
