“Almost unreadable. The main problem is that Nietzsche tries to carry on his poetic discourse by making arguments in the context of a Kantian framework. Later on, he'd realize it was he who was wrong. Composer friend Richard Wagner liked this book, from what I understand. This made Nietzsche happy so he wrote an essay about the greatness of Wagner in his Untimely Meditations. Then Wagner didn't like Nietzsche's "Human, All Too Human". Nietzsche then wrote about what a worthless slag Wagner was.”
