I am from southwest, La. I have a BA from Northwestern State University (in Natchitoches, La) and an MMC from the University of Florida, both in communications with a concentration in public relations. I spent a summer in Zambia (that's in Africa, I get that question a lot) working with Project Concern International creating written materials... more »

Thanks for sending me the invite to the Bookworms Challenge. It was so funny since I had just created a 2010 spreadsheet to be sure to track the number of pages for this year. Now I can do it here to and, hopefully, not miss anything. I love these challenges but I simply can't seem to keep up to the ones I've signed up for so far. This one looks do-able!

Hi! Thanks for doing the shelf. Are you o.k. with greeting new members, still? Remember, I am o.k. with taking that over, if you need me to.

I let him know about the Locke & Key series. It was the Ex Machina Vaughan books. I'm planning to keep with Sandman. My boyfriend told me the the first one just the weakest of the whole series and I really need to give the future ones a try...so, since we own all of them, I figured I could do that. The next Fables is due out in February I think. I can't remember.

Thanks for the info on Flight, I might need to check them out.

I just started the second in the Sandman graphic novels. Dollhouse I think. It is MUCH better then the first already. In fact, I'm loving it so I hope it stays on the same strain. Also, of the graphic novels I picked up for my boyfriend when I raided your shelf earlier this month, my boyfriend has read them all. He hopes #13 comes out soon in the Fables series because #12 had a cliffhanger. He felt Y was only so-so and hopes to read another and that it is better. The other Vaughan book I picked up you had send me a recommendation for and he loved (LOVED) it he said. I also picked up House of Mystery (by Willingham) and he enjoyed that one a great deal also. So, thanks for all the ideas. He was very happy with the last three of the Fables books and the new series starters.
Have you read the Flight books? If so, what did you think or have you heard anything?

Are you gearing up for the 2010 reading challenge? Congrats on surpassing your goal. I only ended up reading 39/50 for 2009. There's always next year! =)

I wish I had the time to join your group. Most of the books I read are written by friends. I belong to the Well Red Coyote Writers Salon, the Sedona Arts Center, and the Sedona Camera Club. I spend an inordinate amount of time plugging my own books, and trying to get caught up on my reading. Even my unread magazines pile is about a foot tall and there's a Camera Club party tonight. I'm thinking about writing another book. Do you know of a publisher who might publish a short book about architect Mary Colter?
    Thanks for asking though.
