Thanks! It's been an awful few weeks, emotionally and physically. I'm still on bedrest for another 3 weeks so might as well try to get some reading done ;). Everyday is a little easier, very little increments.

Lol, thank you for the honest appraisal! I will consider myself warned and won't be running to bump it up the TBR. Not so sure how I'm even feeling about Jane Eyre at the moment. It's a little preachy. Good for vocabulary expansion though. I am interested in the story so far.

Characters travelling into a book and changing the outcome? Hmmm. Yeah, that doesn't sound like me . . .but sometimes I surprise myself. Night Circus.

I will say I listened to it on audio and if something is not riveting I tend to lose some of the story. With this though I don't think that was it. I'm not even sure if I know the point of it. It was certainly a waste of my time this month. So yeah I would say you should skip this one there is are so many other good ones waiting lol.

LOL. I actually have 2 Share-A-Shelf books out of the library on your recommendation. Black Swan Green is due the day before Fool on the Hill but I have a far greater chance of renewing it so I will be reading Fool on the Hill this weekend. I'm not far in but so far so good.

I'm glad you picked me but now I have book stage fright :D Here are some thoughts I had, and you can pick one from the list.

#1 Wind-up Bird Chronicle by Haruki Murakami. You liked Norwegian Wood, and I am torn between these two for my favorite Murakami.

#2 You liked the Tana French novels, so I'm guessing you might like character-driven mysteries. I would suggest a PD James novel (I didn't see any by her on your shelf). My first book by her was A Taste for Death

#3 And finally, if you want something lighter, I really enjoyed I Am Not a Serial Killer by Dan Wells. It's a light funny mystery. It does take a fairly sharp turn in the middle of the book which I wasn't really prepared for, but I still liked it.

Feel free to send some recommendations my way! I don't know whose shelf I'll choose for the game but I'm always up for a new book :D

I don't know how I missed your review of A Secret History - - I actually had to go look for it on your shelf because I knew you were reading it, and I couldn't recall seeing your review. I found it (not on PBT)! I'm sorry it wasn't that great for you . . .I had high hopes! I think you know what I like better than I know what you will like . . .which is good for me I think ;)

It really dragged for me. It was interesting enough; I just couldn't get inspired to read/listen (I tried both). I actually ended up not finishing it even though I was most of the way through.

Hi, Nicole. It started off a little slow for me, but it's definitely getting better. It's actually for my book club at the end of this month. As always, will be fun to see what others think, as well. Are you in a f2f book club?

I just read the description for Damned, and it sounds....odd.

As for Little Children, I'm listening to the audio and so far I'm not enthralled with the reader, but the story is pretty good. One of my friends, who has similar taste, recommended it a couple years ago. And of course it would be good to get your take on it too.
