It's fresh to read a novel with such honest emotion. The writing has a child-like openness about Japanese culture and human experience, but still manages to mix in gut-wrenching imagery. It concludes beautifully - an extremely enjoyable read.

For me, this novel reeked of pretentiousness. Palahniuk's writing lacked his usual depth and character. I do not understand the point or even what happened in the narrative. An overall disappointment.

    Brilliant, but disturbingly haunting.

Because of this book I want to be Andy Warhol. I want his humor, his artistic vision and every one of his quirky habits.

A very cool book. With dialog as sharp as razors and complex character relationships, Elmore Leonard's Rum Punch is a pleasant, quick read.

A disturbing and intense novel, it microscopically analyses Japanese lower-class, suburban life in profound detail. Out demonstrates the desperate lengths one will go to when pushed, producing a highly enjoyable story.

A brash recount of growing up a Lucy. Judith Lucy describes the autobiography as "a moving tribute to the lunatics who raised one of Australia's best-known comedians." This book is hilariously funny and has the power to make you cringe over and over again. A must read for any fan of the extremely funny and talented comedian.
