CopperGoddess

CopperGoddess

I'm a casino dealer, have been one for over 10 years now. I love to read, as seen by my bookshelf, paranormals. If it has vampires, werewolves, zombies, spirits, etc., then I'm more than likely reading it. Glad to have found Shelfari and all the people I have met so far.

This was basically a BDSM story with the undercurrent that the main male character is a vampire. There were sections of the book that jumped from one thought to another that didn't make sense.

    Yeti! Were?

    by Celia Kyle
    • Rated 5 stars

Celia Kyle makes me laugh everytime I read one of her stories. She has a wicked sense of humor and know how to use it. My only complaint was that the stories were too short and I want more yetis. Yosi and his family are a riot, especially Ysai his sister. If you're looking for a chuckle, read a Celia Kyle book today.

  • The Secret History Of Vampires
    • Rated 5 stars

This was an anthology of what might have happened if say Helen of Troy was a vampire. It is a complication of about twelve authors with a different version of the vampire myth. Imagine might have occurred if Napoleon was a vamp. This was a fascinating read from start to finish. There were a couple that made you think of the possibilities.

  • Any Given Doomsday (The Phoenix Chronicles)
    • Rated 3 stars

Liz Phoenix had once used her unique skills as a psychic to help in the Milwaukee Police Department's fight against injustice. But when her beloved foster mother is viciously murdered, Liz discovers that she had been gifted for a reason--and the powers she has are only the beginning. Original.

What would you do, when the person who helped to shape you into the person you are today is murdered and you find her gasping her last breaths? Don't forget, she tells you that your destiny is now, and you must step up to the plate because now you must carry on. This is basically what happens to Liz. She is told that now she is the leader of a bunch of supernatural beings who are fighting to make sure that the Fallen don't take over the world.

Liz fights being what she is called upon to do every step of the way. Even though she knows this will mean the end of the world as we know it, she drags her feet about gaining the knowledge she will need. Liz comes off as immature and argumentative. Plus, she has no idea what she is doing. She is just flying by the seat of her pants. However, there was enough of a story that makes me curious about the next book in the series. Perhaps by then, Liz will have figured out what she will do in war against the evil that is spreading.

Until next time my friends, open a book. Let your imagination soar.

While Riana in the first book was the mortar that provides stability for her team, Cynda it the complete opposite. Cynda a fire Sybil who is as fierce, as her fire is hot. She is a volatile mix of loyalty to the code of the sisterhood and her emerging feelings for Nick Lowell. Nick had previously been uncover in a Legion household trying to find out their plans. Nick, who happens to be Creed's twin brother is also more than he seems.

It seems the Lowell brothers can't help falling for this women. The chemistry between these two is so hot. Their clothes are in peril of melting off every time they come together. In this book, the author gives us more information on the Legion and their plans for the world and for the Sisterhood. • Bound by Shadow: A Novel of the Dark Crescent Sisterhood (The Dark Crescent Sisterhood)
    • Rated 5 stars

This book was a smoking hot read for me. I fell in love with Riana and Creed, plus her sister Sybils created a diverse background. You see Riana is fighting to save her city and the world from the Legion, a demonic organization. The problem comes smacks her in the face with her feeling for Creed who works for the Occult Crime Division. Creed, is not totally a human. He is struggling with the half of his nature. Their relationship cause a rift with her fellow sisters, and compromises their success in the battle against the Legion.

Ms. Windsor has created a world with a diverse cast of characters with different abilities. Even the bad guys have a wide range of powers and weaknesses. Even the secondary characters jump from the pages of her story. I hope all that read this, take the time to check out this book and the other two in the trilogy.

Next up, Bound by Flame and until next time.

Raina Bowen knows she can handle herself just fine against anything the harsh Northern Waste throws at her. Until it throws her an enigmatic stranger called Wizard. First, she has to haul him out of a brawl he can't hope to win. And next, her libido is shooting into overdrive at the feel of his hard body pressed against hers on the back of her snowscooter. But there's something not quite right about this guy. Before she can strip bare Wizard's secrets, they're lured into a race for their lives, battling rival truckers, ice pirates...and a merciless maniac with a very personal vendetta. This is a fast paced book set in future Earth. An Earth that has been decimated by plague and war to become a harsh uncivilized world of the strongest survives. Raina is a strong female character but who is flawed and has demons to battle. While Wizard is a genetic created being who was raised by a computer, and has no understanding of human emotions. Raina must set aside her mistrust of others to help wizard to get the man who had hurt her in the past and is searching for her now. Wizard must come to terms about the feelings he has for Raina and understand them before its too late. This book had me hooked from start to finish. I couldn't wait to see what Wizard would do next to set Raina off, and how she was going to cope with him. The villain is an evil, malicious individual who preys on the young and delights in the fear of others. I was happy to see him what he deserved in the end. Driven will appeal to all readers because it has everyghing. Action, adventure, a strong female lead, and a quiet reserved male. Their are ice pirates and a nasty villain to defeat and a world to save. With enough tension and romance between the two characters to give a die hard romance reader chills. This was a delight to read.

Draven is a man who has not spoken a word in twenty years. Faith is a woman chosen to lead her clan but because of a brutal attack she doubts herself and her ability to lead her people. She chose the Cameron Devil because she assumed that "a dead man tells no tales". And, that the true father of her babe would never return, she was wrong on both counts. Ms. Waters has crafted a remarkable story of how much turmoil the human spirit can withstand, and the power of love and compassion. This book had me enchanted from start to finish for several reasons. One, I wondered if Faith would be able to love and love someone in spite of what happened to her and two, if Draven would ever found his voice again. For the paranormals out there, this story has that too. Draven is truly a witch of outstanding powers, that even he fears them. If you have not read it yet, check it out

If you are looking for a romance story will all the flowering words of passion, don't pick of this book. But, if you are looking for a dark fantasy where were creatures, old gods, vampires, and science fiction come together to form a cohesive world, then this is your book. Mr. Williams had created this world of imagination with such skill you would think this world is real and not something written on paper. This was an awesome fantasy read.
