I'm a lifelong reader with a wide variety of literary tastes, an author in the mystery genre, an optimistic traveler on this journey of life.
My adventures have included travel to more than 35 countries, setting a world altitude record in hot air balloons, writing more than 15 books, and helping my husband with his helicopter business. I've raised two kids, owned several businesses--including a bookstore-- and I struggle with learning Spanish. The authors who most influenced me when I seriously began writing mysteries were Sue Grafton and Marcia Muller. Early reading influences included the Nancy Drew series, the Perry Mason books, Agatha Christie, Dickens, and a slew of romance writers in the style of Victoria Holt and Phyllis A. Whitney.
On the fun side, I enjoy cooking, baking, painting and drawing, pets, and walking on the beach with my hubby. I write about 3 books a year and love staying in contact with my readers via my website, blog and newsletter--- connieshelton.com
