Excellent reviews of The Virgin Suicides - one of my favorites - and Bright Lights, Big City - one I need to read.

Wow, thanks for the great review on Ellen's Revenge. I randomly stumble upon things and it's more difficult when there's not a review. I've just put the book on my wishlist.

I noticed you are a peanuts fan....I recently had the pleasure of seeing the play "Dog sees God: Confessions of a Teenage Blockhead" Its basically a spoof of the Peanuts gang in their High School years...Snoopie got rabbis and bit woodstock and the rest of the gang are busy experimenting with drugs and their sexuality....it was hillarious....if you have the opportunity to see it, I reccomend it highly :-)

Cool, Buk and Lovecraft. I'm old and used to write for some of the same small press zines as Buk. Besides Black Seas I still have the old paperback Arkham editions published by Ballantine books back in the seventies. I wish I could write like that.

    Colin,

Sorry, I am new at this web site. I was asking about the Ruins, which I see you wrote a review on. I was very disappointed with this book's ending as well. It certainly left you with many unanswered questions.

I enjoyed the book, but I tend to like a story of good versus evil to end with good winning, and that is certainly not what happened in this book ; - (
