I'm a self-confessed 25-year-old bibliophile. I am a paramedic, which provides for a lot of downtime between calls, so I always like to have a good book or two close by.
I used to work at Borders', and during that time I think I may have spent more time writing down titles that I wanted to read than actually helping customers. So needless to say, it was a dream job! Haha!
Since then, I have taken some of my perfection tendencies and compiled a huge 32 page Word document....all 32 pages of books that I have read or want to read. Alphabetized by author's last name. I told one of my favorite librarians about it, and she recommended Shelfari to me. I can't believe I have lived this long without knowing about this awesome site!
I am looking forward to sharing my excitement and passion for books and reading with others, and hopefully sharing ideas and making some new friends along the way!!
Just to clear things up regarding my messy and crowded bookshelf! :
Books that I'm currently reading are sometimes books that I have at home and don't read cover to cover, such as books that you keep around and kind of peek at from time to time - no specific story involved in the book - like 101 Things to Do Before You Die. Other books are ones that I am actively reading.
Books that I plan to read include both ones that I own and ones that I hope to own someday OR borrow from the library.
:D ahhh now my perfectionist tendencies feel better! Haha!
