Cindy / Coffeelatte

I'm aiming to finish 50 books in 2009. I'm on 11 as of June, 2009.

I particularly like really good... more »

Okay, sister. I just read through your bookshelf (all 800!) and I am floored. I think we may be psychically linked. First off, I looooooooooove Haruki Murakami! I seldom run across people who've read him. Secondly; I have never, ever run across someone who has even heard of "Girl of the Limberlost," let alone read it! The closest I've come is a few people who read "Freckles" when they were young. Third; I think I have also read the vast majority of the books you have listed. Elizabeth Berg, Kay Gibbons, Robert Heinlein, PD James, My Year of Meat...love it when people aren't stuck in one genre. And fourth; I think we had the same childhood reading habits, too - are we the same age (far from young)? I'll admit that many people read Laura Ingalls Wilder - but Island of the Blue Dolphins?

Okay, enough with stalker talk - happy reading!

Smilla's Sense of Snow captivated me too. I was fascinated with a protagonist who was from Greenland. I agree with your opinion of the movie. One critic called it "Smilla's Sense of Slow."

Hi Cindy - thanks for your note. I see you have Kate Atkinson's Case Histories on your shelf. I'm currently reading the sequel, One Good Turn. It was hard to get into and its taking me forever to finish! But there are some really great moments in it. Some very funny bits too.

    Hi Cindy,
I saw we had a whole buch of books in common. Don't we have great taste ; ) I recently finished Heart Sick by Chelsea Cain and it was fantastic. What are you reading? I'm always looking for a new book to read so I welcome anything you'd recommend. Happy New Year!
