Have you tried Wilbur's BBQ in Goldsboro? What about Parker's BBQ in Greenville? I like vinegar based BBQ, too, as I grew up in eastern NC. Just from reading your profile I wanted to suggest Grace at Low Tide by Beth Webb Hart. The main character has a strong and unwavering faith that plays a large role in her life. I also have on my "to read list" When Crickets Sing by Charles Martin. I read a review on it in the Faith section of our paper and added it to my list. By the way, I'm a true blue Tarheel but because I don't live in NC anymore I''ll pull for the NC ACC teams as long as that aren't playing Carolina (except for Duke) ha, ha!!!

Have you read Eat Pray Love by Elizabethe Gilbert? I just started, and so far I love it. I think you would like it too.

    Miss you!

    Hi Courtney

I had to say hello to you because I went to school and worked in the Neonatal ICU at what was named (in the early and mid 70s) North Carolina Baptist Hospital in Winton Salem....I worked there for about 8 years after graduation--I know that there is now a children's hospital there cause I still get the hospital/Wake Forest newsletter

I remember driving home to see my parents and sometimes passing through a small lovely town named Wake Forest (I think!)....and I most certainly remember Wake Forest University cause I went to a lot of social events there

I have good memories of my time in western N.C.

I enjoyed browsing your books...I am forever working on my own shelves...have written opinions on about half of my books..it is fun but fairly time consuming

    take care

Hi that's so cool that your friend is the understudy for Glinda! Is she going to be on Broadway or in Chicago or what?

Hi Courtney, Your note was so funny! And i love your profile. I thought "Geez, mine was lame!" I should have put more thought into that! ANYWAY, I stay home with my 3 kids. AGHHH! I majored in English Lit at Ohio Universtiy-eons ago. So for all of that I get to enjoy book clubs! This site is really fun. Over time I keep remembering all of the books I have read. Right now I am on a spiritual quest of sorts. You may have recommendations. My family is Catholic but renounced it and raised me with no religion, so I am always reading and wondering. Any good book suggestions? Write soon, Jess
